Really cool this was found! I personally really like Joy Mech Fight and just seeing a Nintendo prototype just getting naturally found outside of leaks is just really nice to see.
Really cool Real Bout 2 is getting this type of rerelease. Basically the most in-depth Fatal Fury with it's two lane system before Garou became SNK's default standard. I hope it comes to Switch or Switch 2 with cross play because I would be more than down to try and have my ass handed to me by the people who actually love and have grinded this game in the background for years lol
Still want to play the original game since it got a Switch physical a while back. Also doesn't surprise me they found a way to include Cotton as a character but her character art looks super cute. Going to try and keep an eye on this one
It's cool Sunsoft is using Ripple Island again, but it is kinda disappointing it is this. I feel like you definitely could of made a pretty cool modern adventure or even just VN sequel to Ripple Island since I feel like there is a good market for it in this day and age
Honestly glad both this and Space Invaders are both coming because both those two are part of the 4 VB Shiteno (at least as Jeremy Parish refers to them) because they are just cool super rare inclusions to see. Would be even crazier if we got the last few remaining titles like Virtual Lab or Virtual Fishing but great none the less, just wish we could at least buy them to play without NSO with the accessory but that's neither here nor there lol
I can very easily tell who doesn't know even has a very slight knowledge of video game history and this is a very obvious self-out on this front lol. Even when I was young I knew that Nintendo didn't dominate in Europe so it makes sense that both of these devs didn't grow up with Nintendo systems, especially LizardCube's CEO. Hardcore Sega fans usually grew up with them solely in childhood so if anything I wouldn't of wanted them to have a Nintendo if it didn't lead us to their line up of Sega reboots we've been seeing
This is very much an unhinged controller mod, but honestly it's cool Hamster included gyro controls in the game for something like this. I might want to try this out myself on Switch whenever I might grab it
VGE doesn't deserve this hate when he is one of the main people actually trying to preserve and get people to know about this system. I think he is in the right to try and sell this when he has shown he wants preserve games and this system to the best of his abilities.
Makes sense considering they were already too outdate for my phone and stuff. Probably no point in keeping them up if they're mobile versions of games that have no differences from other versions, and just simply don't work anymore.
The random Genesis titles, sure those are cheap little emulations. Sonic 4 is mid at best, but why get rid of Monkey Ball, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Tennis, and most especially Sonic CD? It seems they're keeping Sonic 1 and 2 so idk why they would delist CD as well when it's a great version of the game.
Ok interesting to see that this is still only $8. Wonder why Hamster priced both NebulasRay and Ridge Racer so high? Ridge Racer I can kinda see but NebulasRay doesn't make much sense to me
Damn I hate that I was right with the pricing 😔. Hamster does good stuff but man this is pricey. Hopefully it goes down in price a bit overtime, because like $10 for this is a decent price imo
Honestly this SuperMegaPocket looks super slick in these pictures. Just looks much more premium than some of the others so if I ever get one, I might have to get one of these
I do think it sucks that some of the later Gradius titles aren't included, but the collection itself seems cool. I mean the fact we're getting a new game overall kinda makes up for the lack of other titles for the time being. The console versions are cool, but this is in a similar boat to the Capcom Fighting Collections where they aren't seen as the base definitive version, probably more so for these considering most versions of these titles have pretty much almost the same content. My only real issue is that this collection is kinda expensive compared to Konami's other collections, but I guess I should of assumed this as such since it's being developed and priced like a ShotTriggers release
Damn these guys just won't stop the train for this title. I fully expect a Wii version with pointer controls and a Wii U version with unneeded gamepad functionality next and that's not even a joke
I really hope this comes to consoles because I have the original mobile version and really enjoy it, and I've never played the console version before. Just sucks that I don't play mobile games much at all really, let alone have an Apple device.
Seems like a cool budget way to play physical PC-E games, but I wish there was at least some way to play CD titles. That would be nice if you did have some attachment for it
Really cool they gave us both versions. Most times I feel like companies would give us the updated editions of arcade titles like this and call it a day, but I'm glad at least RGG cares enough to keep making these available.
Honestly I don't get his comments here because I think Sega is arguably in one of its best spots in a long time, and they're about to have so many games come out that will also only help them get on top, so I think that this seems kinda doomer since I feel like Sega is in a great position currently
@Fallingshadow Wait really? I didn't hear them mention it at all in the VF Direct. I only saw that they are doing the physical version for VF5FS. Because I feel like if they had a whole new version on PS4, LRG would be letting us pre-order it lol.
Is this a new version of the game for Xbox? Or is it just the 360 version on a disc, because if that's the case I wonder if it will work with 360 as well. Probably not since it will probably be on Blu-Ray, but it would be cool if so
@NinChocolate I don't 100% remember if that is the case or not, but I know My Life In Gaming's video on the MiSTER have full guides on how to set it up on a CRT. Very good watch even if you aren't interested in setting it up on a CRT
I think the FPGA space is pretty cool with what is currently available with MiSTER and stuff, but I just don't really want to buy a MiSTER to download a whole bunch of ROMS, which I already prefer not to do in most cases, when with what I want software emulation gets it done for free. But I am much more interested in the FPGA devices that still act as normal consoles with the original mediums that they had like Analogue's products, so having a big all in one system that plays all types of cartridges, cards, and discs would be awesome and something I would definitely be wanting to get if it has a range to play almost everything possible physically
This is honestly crazy to see that all of this Sega Channel stuff is finally coming to light now when I never thought we would ever see stuff like this again. Super awesome that all of this stuff is getting preserved now!
Damn it looks so hella good! I love it when there's modern sprite-scaling games and I would have to assume this is going to play super fast and smooth. Can't wait to find out more about it!
This is honestly a super cool way to release arcade games for a system like this. Obviously the digital market for arcade titles is much more accessible for people, but the PolyMega obviously leaning towards physical collectors makes this a super smart way to sell arcade games for a system that obviously can't connect physical arcade hardware, so selling them almost like little collections makes it a really cool way to make these more substantial. Its especially cool that they add console versions as well for all titles as well because I think that only helps to give context to the arcade titles and how they were portrayed differently at home.
Really cool that Hamster was able to get another licensed titles for the ACA line. Would be cool what other series they could tap potentially for the line as well
Honestly this is the best thing for me to come out of the new unknown info about past titles for me. Just the fact we got a whole new unknown game uncovered is so cool. Very glad now its preserved for everyone, even if the hack itself is a very bad situation
Personally, I feel like there such a thing as "bad nostalgia," but its less in the form of what people enjoy, and more so people just using nostalgia like a buzz word for any old thing ever like its the only reason to check something out. Like I watch Spawn Wave a lot, and no offense to Jon, but my man says nostalgia way too much when talking about a lot remasters & rereleases, like him only really saying a NSO or PS Plus Premium month is good if a game is "nostalgic" from that era, just saying to check out a remaster or something because it's very "nostalgic." I just kinda groan when people say that because I feel like it makes old games sound like they have no value in going back to unless you have nostalgia for something, and that every little old thing needs to be nostalgic. Just kinda tires me hearing it, but that's just me.
I don't really understand this reason because this kinda falls apart when Ryu and Ken have always been best friends. If anything if we wanna take it in a very socio-political way, Ryu and Ken can be seen as the strong bond the US and Japan has built with each other over time, but that's just if we wanna view it in that sort of way
Honestly it's well deserved for Iizawa. I honestly wouldn't of gotten into Judgement and now want to try the whole Like A Dragon series if it wasn't for these games. Judgement was releasing in the US for the first time and I had seen articles that the game was going to include Motor Raid, and I got all giddy because of that one game (odd game to get crazy over I know but I had the chance to play an actual cabinet before and really liked the game but had never touches it since). I then asked for the game for christmas, and once I got it, the rest was history, and I found one of my new favorite games. All because of these emulations, and Motor Raid
Literally would not of noticed if this article didn't exist, which honestly makes me wonder why people care that much lol. Athena, sure. She's literally one of the main secret characters they used in the trailer so it's weird to hide her, but literally you can't see Mai's cleavage that well anyways, so idk what the fuss is about when it's something so small for just the cover art
Awesome article. As someone who is 18 themselves, I would KILL to have a class like this. Trying to dive deeper into the history of games was something I wanted to explore on my own time, and this class would of let me do it for college credit, while this current class of students don't even seem to care about the media as a whole even beyond the super mainstream titles? Just seems like a wasted opportunity to me from them. Hopefully this type of class keeps moving forward, and more people that are passionate about the history of games can help to pave a better path into understanding the history of games, and then understanding what they can take from those old titles to make something new.
Idk why it isn't as much of a big deal. Sunsoft simply owns the IP and LRG/Embracer wanted to have BitWave make a sequel, so they just got the rights and just started making it. It's just ip business stuff and getting the creator isn't fully required. Of course it would of been cool if he got involved, but I have trust in BitWave from their output so I have lots of excitement for when this releases
This is a really cool product range, and I would say is arguably much more compelling than Arcade1Up's countercades. Hopefully I can still pick up the vinyls I want before they sell out forever.

Really nice that he decided to put it up online. It feels like if he was giving it out for free on cartridge, that it would be easy to just put it online for free. Definitely will be checking this out. Might put it on my PSP
Very good interview. As someone who like Chris says is only familiar with Minter from Tempest 2000 onwards, this collection of titles and story about Jeff just seems super interesting to me as someone who doesn't know his story and games, but see's something from the Konix Multivision getting included and get really excited. I can't wait to check out this title. I know its gonna be just as great as Atari 50
