You havent had a point this entire time, you just dont like my opinion on the modern era of remakes. if all you are going to do is nitpick second and third order arguments, im done here. π
ok, I hear it now π₯΄ please understand, I didn't conciously mean to come off that way. we are a genuinely more engaging, diverse, and interesting community, for our differences. βοΈ
fwiw I LIKE that there are fans of "unpopular" or "failed" consoles, and as a jaguar, 32x, saturn, sega CD, turbo16, NGPC, Dreamcast owner and fan, I rank myself among them. π
i feel like somehow im not being clear. i was saying that the review should be about the collection itself, as well. π and, definitely agree that the first two are the ones worth actually playing, if any.
"Just to note though I shouldn't be treated differently for having interest in something you don't. π"

"I'm looking at Steam and it's mostly positive reviews."
touche! i even checked for myself.
"What are the criticisms of the collection?"
(see link i sent in last my comment βοΈ)
in general it seems like one of those cases where "the critics" are panning it but the actual Bubsy fans think it's fine. In fact i made the point on that review's comments that the reviewer should be reviewing the compilation itself, not the quality of the games, which i think youd agree. it was a whole conversation there.
anyway! the next line in the song is "ive been here for years" so feel free to take my sardonic interpolation at face value ππ
have you ever noticed that you and I look at the exact same information and consistently come to polar opposite conclusions? I think that's interesting. βοΈ
i agree with everything youve said, here βοΈπ
personally im done buying remakes for the most part as i (almost) never feel they actually improve the game. π if its a game worth "remaking," its worth playing as it originally was.
"However they have been as much as a focus until the last 10 years or so"
you arent wrong but this is an extreme understatement. in All-Stars' day, remakes for games were rare and special. βοΈ I used to LOVE them when they did come out because 2D games were actually uncommon for a long time and i was already "old school' as a 12 y.o. PSX owner. βοΈ
sure, new remakes and remasters were being announced for last generation games every week on NES, SNES, PSX, and N64. I remember that too. just like now. no different, yup. π
(FWIW im actually fond of the trackball and paddle controls on this device π too bad it appears to be built like a device theyd sell at walgreens for 20nbucks.)
I'd buy a wonderswan clone, and a NGPC clone, absolutely. π
indeed, if its gonna be microswitched, the deadzone should be fairly tiny I reckon. on ngpc, i was pulling off fireballs and dragon punches et al with a very light touch on the stick, not even touching the extents of its travel much of the time.
ive always wanted to love the NGCD pad, but its never felt quite "right" to me, so i havent bothered to check out the 8bd version, though im always low key tempted.
tbh I think the NGP stick is an improvement over the original, and my dream controller would essentially be a dualshock 3 with NGP stick in place of dpad. π
yet, given the quote, it does seem that both "the company is pointing the finger at Nintendo," and "this issue will also impact the PS4, PS5, and Xbox versions, as the platform holders share similar requirements" are true. π
yeah, that was a little before my time. I'm glad to have missed it, but it seems like it's just one thing after another! my mom was worried about Mortal Kombat, Beavis and Butthead, and "raves" LOL. i think I got off easy. π
yes, we are backsliding horribly. so many people see the lack of "culture" like you see in this article clipping as "the death of comedy," because they never had a sense of humor in the first place.
OTOH, i mean, what if her face WAS copied from a man's face, and then i was attracted to the same face? π± the horror.

(I agree about the graphic design in wipeout! looking back it was very mind expanding for young me, visually, aurally, and even spatially, being my first "real" 3d game. my imagination just went crazy for this game from the moment I first played it at Sears.)
wipeout was my very first game on my v1 PSX, when I was 10. I turn 40 next month π± feels like yesterday I was playing this game in my bedroom, of course with mind thoroughly blown.
"the 32-bit console struggled to accurately replicate the grandiose nature of the arcade version"

maybe we should put Mortal Kombat down, and think about Eternal Champions for a while.

just because someone is trying to make money off re-publishing these old games doesn't make it more immoral to emulate them. that's my opinion.
especially if they are going to leave out seemingly the more interesting/better half of the ports.
