my little brother and i used to pause the game too catch the characters in funny frames of animation

also i remember reading the character bios in the instruction manual and realizing how silly it all was 😂

still, mortal Kombat always seemed far sillier to me, and not always in a good way

I think it's interesting that they thought people would rush out and buy a game with no password or save system and super cheese difficulty after renting it over a weekend.

i was curious, so I looked it up: Fight Club contains about 20 minutes of actual fighting, according to a random article. i believe it.

honestly an open world RPG with stealth action type gameplay wouldve been a better adaptation IMO. ✌️

This is a great pad, but the best controller for Dreamcast (if you like fighting games) has to be the DC Arcade Stick, IMHO ✌️

GT1 had an arcade mode it just wasnt on its own disc 👍 but you are correct gt2 is the one with an "arcade disc," I'm assuming the only one in the series.

tbh I was having the same thought @MysticWangForce (great handle lol) had:

my impression has always been that "Arcade Mode" in GT had slightly more "arcadey" physics and handling than the "Simulation Mode."

tbh though I loved Simulation Mode in GT1 and Arcade Mode seemed like 100 steps back at the time so I rarely tried it ✌️

(GT had that perfect learning curve, where 5 hours in you are doing things that felt impossible initially, with the same set of "tools." ❤️ I never cared about cars but this game amazed me as a teen.)

I have a saturn and im perpetually in the market for a rom reader solution (for all my consoles in fact) but the wealth of options and jargon keeps me from pulling the trigger (so i keep just playing switch lol)

fwiw, "lower prices," in my opinion, makes it sound like they were assembling a budget game. what they actually saved was cost, increasing their profits while the (full) price (presumably) remained the same.

I ❤️'d my OGDS literally to pieces too, but my SP which is years older and worn smooth like a stone from use and travel, still functions perfectly ✌️ I also very rarely saw loose, damaged or broken hinges on Nintendo handhelds in my years of buying and selling them as a pawnbroker, in a former life.

easy disagree but that's OK! 😂 imo Soma is a pale imitation: where Alucard is a fascinating and satisfying character, I forget I'm even playing as Soma and they just don't really move the needle for me. To each their own! ✌️ all the games are good, which is what's really important, but none of them grab me like SOTN did in its day, and still does when i return.

I see the irony in what I'm saying, but given that semantics literally means "the meaning of words" yes, I am talking about semantics 👍

to play devil's advocate for a sec (im not pro censorship) is it really appropriation or vandalism when the "private company" in question is essentially hired by the owners of the japanese game (to simplify things a bit) to localize and distribute it?

final point, and this is what ive been saying all along: two subtly distinct things or concepts can have the same word applied, and in culture and politics, subtext is hugely important. definitions of words get smeared, concepts get lumped together through misinformation and propaganda. my argument has been a lot more nuanced than "this is censorship, this isnt" but maybe that's already apparent. ✌️

From the article, I thought they remade Toy Story 2 (the movie) on PSX! Dang! 😆

im not saying it's not dumb, and i feel for your situation ✌️ if this is a game you were out would look forward to playing on your Xbox, that sucks! but i don't think a company saying "we don't like your terms" and skipping the platform is censorship, I don't think a platform setting its own standards is censorship, and I don't think silly standards are more censorshippy than common sense standards, just for being silly. 👍

You are right, but it's a broad word (perhaps too broad) that gets misused and conflated a lot. 👍 especially by people who feign concern about the "gubmint" while encouraging policy both public and private that actually censors others and worse. for example they think certain people were being "censored" by pre-X twitter because they were banned or supressed after they violated the platform's hate speech laws, yet they have no problem with the government pulling books from libraries, and telling teachers what relevant factual truths they are allowed to convey to students (or even forcing them to lie to students.)

In other words, there's an important censorship battle happening in gaming and almost all forms of media and it has nothing to do with publishers and platforms selecting for content what games they publish. ✌️👍

I'm not sure it's considered "censorship" if the company privately decided not to publish the game at all. I think the game would have to exist to be censored.

Not to mention, "private censorship" (as opposed to "self censorship" or " gov't censorship) is really just the free market, right?

personally, I'm worried about government censorship. We are not threatened by multiplat games not coming to XBOX, and if it's the "wrong decision" they will feel it in either bad press, or financials, or both. but they won't.

I wear 40 dollar knockoffs and I'm beyond happy! My feet are different and better than they were. Also I work all day on my feet in these shoes, and they wear better than the "wolverine" type "work shoes" I used to wear (more like they were wearing me 😂✌️)

i just have to be more careful! I guess, step on a nail, save your hips, knees, ankles, and toes 😆
