Great interview loved the whole myst series. The Real shame here is a suspect this may not sell well. The minimum spec for this are sadly very high. I suspect it will be quite a few years before most users get to play this.

Having worked on PC games myself the first rule you learn is lower spec games sell far better.

It won't work on my personal PC. Hopefully this comes to Console soon. Still waitng on the Myst remake on Playstation.

The modes added in by the other version and changes they made where not very good. The base saturn version is still the best version why on earth you would want to do add.

The guardian heroes re-release had simlar issues the translation lossed a lot of it's punch. But the issue their was working design did the saturn translation not sega.

once or twice games have been delayed by a day or so that said mighty guy has a store page but never came out on PS4.

I suspect hamster only submit each game once to sony for submission as the first time is always free. If the game fails they don't resubmit due to the cost it incurred.

Jackal is not out on PS4 or switch yet so it might just be a delay

Given the filing is for the Saturn / PS1 version Gokujou Parodius Da!. I suspect we could be seeing either a city connection version or maybe a ps4/5 playstation version via premium.

Something I should point out is the saturn card slot is quite delicate and using poorly made carts can wided the pins casuing your saturn to fail to read any cart. So be careful.

Looks good but find this odd they are missing the PS4 given sony said half their users are still on PS4. If you build the game for PS4 it also runs on PS5 so really don't see why they are missing easy money. Given the sega saturn could run this....

Wonderful game and it will complete the original bubble bobble trilogy. Have they said if this is the PC engine or the Amiga version? As the Amiga version has a extra secret planet not in the PC engine version.

The atari arcade rights have been with midway since 1996. Which is now owned by warner bros. They won't get them back that's for sure. Embracer where not putting a company back togehter they where just buying up everything and then leveraging the increased value of the company to get more captail then buying another company rince and repeat. It now why they are in a total mess.

@Zeebor15 Not making the list public to begin with makes sense. I imagine it will take a while to untangle the rights and work out what they really have. e.g in some case they may only have the name etc. Plenty of companies like to use smoke and mirrors to hide what they really have in a sale.

Having worked for a publisher myself in the past I know rights can be a very murky issue. The Atari games I am most fond of are games like APB from the late 80's early 90's and the rights to that are now with warner bros.

I know of a few cases wher larger multimedia companies do acquire rights to some games and then just set on them.

@BIGGIT I was trying to make a subtle hint that the writer of this story should say USA instead of west as it's only getting a NA release. I imported this game from japan years ago so I doubt I would buy it if released.

@Damo that press release appears to say North America only so us in europe are still not getting it. Unless you import.

As someone that has been a saturn owner since christmas 1996. I still think it's a great console. Games like Virtua Fighter 2 and Dead or Alive prove the saturn could do better 3D than the playstation. I think Taromaru is a bit overrated the game is quite short as well. Stellar Assault SS is one great import that never seems to get that much love.

@Bonggon5 totally agree he could have made himself just a custom shell to put the new machine in not gut an old console. Grid studio are just a bad if they are using real consoles to make their so called art!!!!!

No never did I just used the 32x to play imports which has a larger cartridge slot

Border Down needs a re-release it is by far the best dreamcast shooter. I would be surpised if they don't release it on PS4 given the sales in japan are still very high

As a reminder if you consle is in warrenty you should alway use the offical repair service. Not sure how I feel about CEX the are the main villain for controlling the retro prices at the moment.

I have a broken saturn model 2 modded which I been told is unfixable in the past.

I would hope you check gamefaqs in future one of the best site for cheats.I Unlocked this all years ago you only need the medal on Venom on Expert Mode, Venom 2 was pretty easy to do. Getting all the medal on Expert Mode gives you the alternative title screen.

Headhunter on dreamcast felt a bit spy ish. Think you are right their are very few Operation Stealth on the amiga was spy based but that was more a point and click.

I know you interviewed them a while back is anyone able to dig into the reason why a number of the ACA neogeo games got a xbox release and not a PS4 eg 3 count bout, riding hero. in europe. Ninja Gaiden was only released on switch in europe

should that not say PS4 & PS5 given the games are being released on both consoles at the moment. The job they are doing is not great legend of dragoon was released in an awful state. Many of the other have needed a number of fixes as well.

I have a lynx as well and a new version with sharper screen which can play the old games would be nice.

Like other have said I have no space for arcades in my home but a collection on console would be a day one buy for me.

@rob7979 this was due to a bug in the arcade version which meant the difficulty settings did not work. So it was always set to hardest no matter which option was set. Hence the arcade was not that popular for SSF2T

Something not mentioned is that the saturn version of kof95 was so close to the arcade. This caused some backlash by neo geo fans as the saturn version was better than the neo geo cd version and a few fans questioned what was the point of owning a neo geo cd. Hence why later Kof's on the saturn where more inline with the neo geo CD versions. The rom cart would have allowed them to be near perfect.

@mariteaux I totally agrees history should not be censored in any way. We need to learn from the mistakes of the past or we will be doomed to repeat them. I don't see the point of this warning indeed if they feel the need to have them they should be in the store before purchase. That said Timeextenstion has missed the point here tomb raider has been released based on the openlara version and not the orignal as this is a recreation.

Yet Sunset Riders, Commandos 2, and Street Fighter 2 have all been released with censorship in recent version. Arcade Archives even delisted super sidekicks 2 games due to it containing references to Taiwan and the Republic of China.

This is far worse as they failed to mention the fact the games where censored. Pinball FX also censored a number of Midway tables but at least they mention the fact as this was due to ratings issues.

Japan only looks like this is not getting a UK release so joins the list of 16 games not available in the UK, 385 are available on switch at present and for PS4 its quite a few less. xbox only got the Aca ones

Sega going multi format was a complete mess and left their fans in no man land. Releasing games on different formats was a complete disaster. Virtua fighter 4 ps2, spikeout xbox, billy hatacher gamecube. They needed to release games on just one format or all. Indeed sega tried to get microsoft to included dreamcast support Chairman Isao Okawa at the time even met with Bill Gates.

Can confirm a wild thing saturn joypad will also work to unlock the bonuses. Also if you are very fast you can do it with any pad mashing the start button. Found their are at least 5 games with extras.

I have never heard this mentioned before that this controller unlocks features in games. I have all 3 bomberman saturn games as well. Hudson released quite a few saturn games so maybe there are more will need to track down one to see if it does work.

I have to agree with this list Daytona USA is still one of the best racers and one of the few that allowed 40 cars on screen at once.The original Sega Rally is close but all the other poster fail to name a better sega racer. Daytona 2 and sega rally 2 where let downs. Virtua racing was good not great. touring car was the same. The original outrun is a classic but failed to have the impact of daytona in terms of the stages. Scud race was good. At this point your now into the more obscure racers like le mans or indy 500 both of which I only ever saw in one arcade. I doubt most of the poster ever played them.

Can you try looking into the releases a bit more. As not all arcade archives games get released in europe or the west last week's mighty guy has yet to get a PS4 release in europe. Ninja Gaiden was never released in europe on PS4. metrocross was not released in europe at all. Their annoucements seem to apply to Japan primarily.

Day one for me one of the greatest platformers of all time. Worth pointing out in 2035 wizards of oz comes out of copyright.
