Wish this article would explain why this 3rd party is making it after Commodore was relaunched as a new company. There were many past articles here about the new Commodore company. It’s bad journalism / tabloid quality not to provide an explanation. Its like the editor here doesn’t read the articles on this website.

@Xerox1919 I think the opposite happened. Originally, the seller was going to sell the haul to a private collector before the "Video Game Preservation Museum" came along and tried to make their own larger offer by raising money with donors. Donors to the "Museum" that gave more money would be able to select a game and donors that gave less money would get a random game (if it all) from that stash. The "Museum" was never able to raise the funds despite months of trying and then may have trigger the raid by bringing attention to it.

I also don't think this "Museum" is a non-profit entity. It's just another private collector who has a side interest in preservation talking about itself in 3rd person and sounding altruistic. Having joined that Discord, I am still not convinced that the "Museum" is competent or altruistic.

Looks like it will be Genesis and not MegaDrive according to the box. Wonder if there is an alternate sticker inside the box to use on the controller.

Anyone notice the screen proportions changed from the original 3:4 to 9:16 ? Looks like they couldn't source the correct proportion screen.

Curious why the only place that "Video Game Preservation Museum" turns up, beyond their own social media feeds, is Time Extension. Why aren't other video game websites covering this?

Also, the math at the start of this article doesn't add up. Fourteen years ago was not 2014, it was 2011.

I haven't heard of any of the games he's worked on after Mega Man 2 or 3.

It's too bad that they are located in a part of New York that is 6 hours away from New York City by car. (They are closer to Toronto, Canada than NYC). I don't understand their location logic.

@belfasthonzo : You won’t need a Pitrex to run this game since it’s powered by the Vectrex CPU and doesn’t need a Raspberry Pi. A Pitrex would still work as a flashcart but there are several other Vectrex flashcarts.

(The Pitrex does run an awesome Bad Apple video on the Vectrex. You can find that on YouTube but it looks much better on a Vectrex ).

@Daggot My mall didn't have a Waldensoftware store, just Waldenbooks. I think I bought several of those plastic blister packed, rack games as well as a Star Trek game that was packaged like a book with a software pouch inside.

@Daniel36 I had asked for a Founder’s Edition cart label/ box as an add on. They said no and that the late supporter Patron label doesn’t make a difference. For $145 for a boxed copy, it makes a difference to me if I pledge or not.
