Re: "We'd Probably Have To Release Them In 4 Or 5 Instalments" - Final Fantasy XIV's Director On Why More Remakes Haven't Materialised

NicolausCamp

If FF6 is a two act story, then DQXI is basically the same two acts AND a third one on top of that (at least kinda), and that game was released in one complete package... or 4 actually... 3DS, 2D, regular PS4 and S Definitive.
If Square Enix can accomplish that, then there is NO reason to drag the story of FF6 out over 4-5 games.

Re: I'm Really Not Sure How I Feel About Sony Killing Physical Media

NicolausCamp

I'm all digital on my Xbox, the last PlayStation I bought was the PS3, where I'm physical for everything except for digital only titles. I mainly play via Steam, and on my Switch 2 I only buy first party exclusives, and those I buy physically.
I feel for the ones impacted the most, but here's the thing for me... I'm DONE with console gaming outside Nintendo. Xbox are messing up bigtime now, and PlayStation doesn't have my trust at all either. At least on PC, that's an open platform, with lots of options that consoles simply don't have.
If this generation has taught me anything, it's that the console market for me is simply dead (Nintendo notwithstanding) after all the boneheaded moves MS and Sony have been making these last couple of years. It feels good to just leave all of that behind me and fully embrace the PC.

Re: Analogue 3D Firmware Update v1.2.3 Now Available, And Here's What It Does

NicolausCamp

I updated, and all of a sudden it doesn't want to work where I used it before. It works on another tv, but not my primary one. It gets power, but there's no image, and I've tested other devices with the cables and the seem to work fine. Extremely weird.
EDIT: I tried downgrading the firmware, and it shows the update screen, but then it just goes dark after restarting. Guessing my TV doesn't accept the signal or something any longer.
EDIT 2: Fixed it! Changed it to output 1080p instead of 4K on the other tv, plugged it into my main setup, and it worked. Guess it was just a matter of HDR or resolution collision.
