Re: Poll: What's The Best Shinobi Game?

Soupbones

As much as Shinobi 3 improved the gameplay over Revenge, I still give Revenge the nod - the music, enemy and stage variety just give it the edge imo.

After originally being disappointed with Shadow Dancer (Genesis) when it first came out, I find myself like it even more than 3 now.
As a fan of the original Shinobi arcade, I’ve come to appreciate all the callbacks it does to that and the arcade version of Shadow Dancer (hostages, 1 hit kills, etc). It’s one of those games where, once you get good - it really shines.

All 3 Shinobi games on the Genesis are top tier - but i guess i like them best in the order they were released!

Re: New SNES Game 'Dottie Flowers' Is Getting A Physical Release This Year

Played the demo a couple of times last night (100% on my 2nd play through).

This game shot straight up to my must get list! The gameplay and grpahics are great - gives me Treasure vibes.

The demo is super easy – that would be my one complaint. Also, I'm not sure why a game that will only take an hour to beat would need a save feature...

This article is a bit misleading though - completing the demo does not tell you how to get the full game. It simply asks for you to send a card to the developer for a chance to win a copy of the game. Unless I missed something?

While Crisis Force is a good looking shooter, there are better ones on the system if you are looking for more.

Check out S.C.A.T., Gun-Nac and Summer Carnival 92' Recca

@KingMike
Monster World was definitely released here in NA. I recall being disappointed by how easy it was (compared to Dragon's Trap and Monster Land on the SMS). Looks amazing though!

Also, regarding Fatal Labyrinth - I remember that and Flicky both being released on budget games ($30 IIRC) - which was unheard of at the time. Both were well worth the price IMO.

Being a huge fan of Revenge, this was such a relief after playing Shadow Dancer on the Genesis. Shinobi 3 felt much more like a sequel to that game - though it didn't surpass it in my opinion.

Decades later, I actually have come to love Shadow Dancer more as well - but all 3 games are top tier in my book.
