BallisticNG has been the best one by far, IMO. Absolutely love it, and it really sucks that it has gone so mostly unnoticed.

This, and other reasons are why I always prefer to play with Japanese voices with English subtitles. Same goes for anime. Its 100% a deal breaker for me on a Japanese game if they don't offer that on release.

@slider1983 What would they do with them? They are certainly not going to start their own museum. I think if they were to have gotten ownership of the items they would have turned around and donated it to a museum anyway.

I miss Iwata. The Nintendo that I grew up with died with his passing, and then the last nail was hammered into the coffin when Reggie left NOA. They've become pretty awful since then.

It would have been interesting to see the change if they had agreed. I like the idea of characters having alternative designs to fit their cultures. I'm assuming that if the Japanese publisher had insisted, then Core Design wouldn't have allowed Tomb Raider to be released there?

Hopefully Metacritic does the right thing and puts an end to this obvious troll campaign to make this garbage game highly rated. I can't believe they would actually let this happen.

So this is the best they could do for the anniversary? Incredibly disappointed. But Square has always been rather disrespectful to the Chrono series. I'm still shocked that they ever re-released Chrono Cross for modern systems. I don't know what executive at Square has had a problem with the Chrono games all these years, but the disrespect has been obvious for a long, long time.

Really excited about this! Ecco the Dolphin was one of my favorite games on the Genesis. I just hope they won't be rushed out garbage with the name slapped on them. I hope as much creativity and effort goes into the new games that went into the original.

The first western release which was on the GameCube.. I played that so much back then, had never played anything like it. My favorite one by far has been New Leaf. I hate the direction they went with New Horizons.

Completely supportive of them in this move, though I question coming to the US for this. I would have chosen somewhere in Western Europe. I wouldn't advise anyone to come to the hellscape that is the US currently, unless you have no other choice.

There's a dedicated website that's been around for a long, long while now that pre-packaged the games neatly to just install and run on modern systems. Surprised you didn't mention that considering other outlets did ages ago.

@Guru_Larry They will all sue whoever does that and it'll end up with an injunction against release that will tie it up in court for years. I remember reading year ago about when someone was trying to get the rights to release it, everyone said they didn't know, but when they suggested that they might release it anyway since nobody knows, Fox threatened to move heaven and earth to find proof of their rights to it and sue them out of business. It's pretty awful.

@Guru_Larry Last I heard Paramount was attempting take WB out from under Netflix by force by going straight to the investors with a bigger offer, not to mention Trump will likely block the merger in favor of Paramount which is run by one of his scumbag pals.

@MARl0 Don't worry. As soon as the shareholders of these companies realize they aren't making any, or enough money from AI, the bubble will burst and they'll move onto the next get rich quick scheme. They'll continue doing that until late-stage capitalism ultimately collapses entirely, which I can't wait for because capitalism is by far one of worst things humans have ever invented and has pretty much doomed the planet.

@Daniel36 The 90s cheesy vibe is what makes me want to see it. I'm not sure if you could make a movie that plays this stuff straight with this source material and have it be taken seriously. It's kinda gotta be over the top. I'm honestly not sure what fighting game series could have a serious movie made for it honestly.

What worries me is how many people this fooled even though there were definite signs of AI in it. I fear the day is coming when all the obvious tells that something is AI slop will be harder and harder if not impossible to spot and people will get fooled more and more. The implications are terrifying.

Id love to see the original Japanese version translated and released with the FMV and all. The English one that released changed too much.

I haven't watched this show and don't have any interest in it, even though I am someone born in 1984 who enjoys the genre it belongs to and the subject matter. However, I don't know. It just doesn't seem interesting, and it looks more like nostalgia bait. Goofs like that bug the crap out of me as well which is an additional turn off.

Stickerbush Symphony from DKC 2 is the greatest song in a video game ever. I will die on this hill if needs be.

I'd be very surprised if this didn't get c&d'd out of existence soon. I don't understand why people waste their time working on copyrighted projects when they pretty much always get shut down.

@slider1983 Yeah. They'd do the AI up res on the cut-scenes and that could look pretty bad. Someone just released a remaster mod for Mysteries of the Sith and it looks pretty impressive. Its on moddb.

@slider1983 Why do you say that? The OpenJKDF2 source port project has been around for quite a while now, so It's not like its impossible.

Is It too much to hope that maybe, just maybe Lucasart's Afterlife could be remastered? I know I'm one of the very few people alive who likely played that game, but I love it. Would be incredible to see that happen.

I first played Elder Scrolls: Oblivion on the 360, and it absolutely blew my mind. I must have spent days almost nonstop playing it. I first played Left 4 Dead on the 360 as well which became another addiction for a while. I somehow lucked out and never got the Red Ring of Death.

The 360 is 20 years old... Ugh. I was 21 in 2005. I'm 41 now. Time sucks.

All I feel like I can say in situations like this is f*** cancer. This is heart breaking. Such a wonderful person, and a great developer. I don't believe in an afterlife personally, but if there is one I hope she's reunited with her wife and that they can be happy and healthy forever.

Weird. I played the game when it was new and have no memories of any one level being particularly difficult. I guess I must have gotten through without too much frustration then. Interesting to learn though.

I finally finished AC6 and really loved it. I want to go back and play the whole series from the beginning at some point.

There's a really great retrospective analysis series of videos about each game by a Youtuber named AesirAesthetics. Really worth a watch.

Why? My memory of what little I played of these games back in the day was that they were very boring games at best.

Not surprised sadly. It's a huge shame that it is widely the case with all of those old Japanese games. The documentaries and books that could have been released if all of that stuff still existed would have been wonderful.

As for the FFVII remakes? I'm planning on playing them once they are all completed. I'll reserve judgment until then

I've never bought one of these emulator powered reproduction systems before, but I want this. I never got to have an Amiga and this looks like the thing I've been waiting for. I just hope they don't sell out fast and never get made again.

I miss Babbages and CompUSA. So many great memories browsing all the big box pc games as a kid and teen. CompUSA was cool cause they also carried boxed copys of Linux when it was an incredibly niche and incredibly difficult thing to get into. God, I miss those days.

According to a commenter there, they discriminate against 40-year-olds too. Which is awful, as I'm 41 and don't look or act any differently than I did when I was 30, so the idea of being discriminated against based on a number is just crazy to me.

I'd have bought this game again if it didn't use Ubisoft connect. I'll stick with my modded version made from my old disc copy then. I love the original three games. Didn't like anything after Chaos Theory. I don't want to watch the new show, or likely play the eventual new game because I can't imagine anyone other than Michael Ironside playing him.

This was one of my favorite games to rent for my Sega Genesis. I remember being so amazed by the graphics and the setting. I never actually got to own the game till the remaster in the last few years when I got it on GoG. Still love the game.
