Oled is the only modern display tech, that can emulate the look, needed for vector graphics, to look somewhat "real".
An IPS with horrible black level, will look like sh*t.

I still have my old Vectrex, that still works.
But I was hoping this would have been a success, so they could make a 1:1 scale version, in the future.
Would be great as a backup, when my console dies.

Sturmwind is a Euroshmup, since it was made here in Europe.
And it was another example of style over substance, with pre-rendered animations and effects in the backgrounds.

Western developed (especially Euro) shmups just don't play all that great. Sure, the graphics are pretty spectacular, but looks more like style over substance, as usual.

As someone who grew up with both systems, it was painful to see the Intellivision legacy, dragged through the mud, by Tallarico and his goons.

Loved their late 90:s to early 00:s games, but got bored with their later games.

My favorite, is still DoDonPachi, from 97, which still had some of that awesome Toaplan feel to it. And with an amazing Metal soundtrack, and beautiful proper 2D pixel art.

If it was wireless, I would love to have one, as all my retro consoles and computers are connected to my living room Oled, through a Retrotink. Got wireless 2.4ghz controllers, for almost all my retro systems now.
I still have three original Tac 3 controllers, but would love to get rid of those wires and the extension cables.

When it comes to the price + shipping, just buy a used original instead. They seem to last forever, as my Tac 3:s have gotten plenty of use and abuse, over the last 40 years 😁

I would rather have seen a straight port, of the Saturn version. These remakes look so damn generic and ugly to me.

Should have gone all out with the sci-fi theme, and use futuristic landscapes.
And yeah, the road is too flat.
But if it stills turns out to be good, I might pick up the rom.

Instead of releasing 527 different models, each year. How about one budget, one mid range and one high end. Three models, every two years. Pick a design and stick with it. They're flooding the market with all these new models, and their clone designs.

I doubt that the blu-ray discs, for PS5, will work 50 years from now, as they are even more fragile, than a CD or DVD. I already have lost a couple of discs, due to disc rot, etc.
Digital backups is the only way to truly preserve the games.

Cartridges don't last forever either.
As the mask roms, also age.
Got Atari 2600 and Intellivision carts, that are beyond repair, due to this.
Also had a few DS carts die on me.
Nothing lasts forever.

This is a really great and impressive shmup.
They should have included this as a bonus on the Gradius/Salamander collections.
Putting it together with a Goemon collection, seems a bit odd. Or better yet, let people buy the game on modern platforms.

Patched the correct rom, but i only get a black screen.

I stopped buying re-releases of Mega Drive games, it just feels like glorified bootlegs, preying on the FOMO crowd. I just play them on my Everdrive instead, which have saved me an insane amount of money.
And $100, for the easiest game to find complete in a box, for way less? It's just ridiculous...
Only new releases, I buy for retro systems, are indie games. Like Earthion, whenever they are releasing it.

How many hardcore Commodore fans, are left among us, who would pay $500 for this *****?
I grew up with the Vic-20 and C64, but no amount of nostalgia, would make me pay that much, for a phone with the same specs, as a Chinese budget phone. And the younger generations, don't even know what a Commodore is.
The few hardcore fans that will buy one, will probably use it for a couple of days, before it goes back in the box.

The reaper will once again come for Commodore, if they think they can sell ANYTHING, by just slapping the classic logo on the device. Perifractic is so damn out of touch.
And it's kinda hilarious, how he hates modern stuff, and yet uses Gen-Ai, for their commercials.

I still enjoy playing the original Dodonpachi, as it still had that Toaplan look and feel to it, with great REAL pixel art (instead of ugly pre-rendered sprites), and an amazing hard rock soundtrack. And most important thing of all, for me, no anime girls screaming in your ears...
