@bbbbbr I probably can but still, I don't like having to embed the full publication when I just want to share the video and make my own comment. I just don't understand why devs won't publish their videos on YouTube as well (or even a simple linkable mp4 format), it's way better for archiving things on the long run.
@bbbbbr That won't help me unfortunately because you can't embed Mastodon at all in WordPress afaik. YouTube is way more convenient for my retrogaming website.
@RossoftheRobots Yes, I've asked someone who is on the Evercade Discord and there are savestates as usual. So I don't really get TE's complains since saves are manual in EVERY Evercade game anyway. I guess the Tomb Raider remasters have auto-save, though.
@RossoftheRobots That's what I was wondering about actually. If you have to save with crystals that can only be used once, like it was the case on Saturn (and PlayStation I guess), I won't get it. Amusingly, most people I know who love Tomb Raider played it on PC back in the days, and on PC you could save any time.
I got stuck in the big room with the four trials and iirc you only had two crystals, so it was impossible to save between each trial, and you could easily die in the platform sequences between each trial. It was a nightmare to me.
Why did you have to spend that much money on Uber??? The subway was way more convenient during the Olympics (albeit a little more expensive than usual).
It's weird... The article makes it sound like the game was made to attract people who prefer "Classicvanias"... While the game is a Metroidvania with an 8-bit look, that's all. I'm pretty sure people would prefer the opposite, a Classicvania with a more modern look (like Rondo of Blood for instance).
@1040STF Thank you. I hate when Europe is called UK, which happens a lot at Nintendo Life and sister sites. It would be about time to realize that an English web site isn't just read by native speakers.
@shouryuuken It's mine as well, and I call it "stalk and gun", a phrase that was coined by Kurt Kalata regarding Crack Down (the true sequel to Shinobi for Yutaka Sugano). I recommend Huntdown if you haven't played it yet.
@Sketcz Thank you, I remembered your article but wasn't sure, so I wanted to avoid a blunder. I'll feel better when writing about it on my website, then (I'm Guillaume from MO5.COM).
@Poodlestargenerica It's not. I won't say it clearly because the game's creator didn't want to tell it explicitly in John Szczepaniak's interview, but it's easy to guess and the answer is in the following volume. It's a VERY BIG movie from 1989.
This is great news but I'm confused by the legality of it, especially considering it's a Japanese movie... When I saw the news, I assumed it was finally re-released on DVD/BR, not on YouTube.
I think the poll should have offered two "no" options, whether people think content should be censored instead or not changed at all, even though I assume they meant the second option. I personally voted "yes" because I feel it's important to put things into context, as it is already done with books for instance.
@PinballBuzzbro I actually wanted to create an Altered Beast spin-off that would keep the same gameplay but turn it into a Metroidvania using the different transformations (and adding new ones). Unfortunately, I can't do the graphics... But most of all I don't have time anymore to create games.

@Nathendo Maybe! In any case, the article clearly needs clarifying...
Re: An Embarrassed Sony Had To Beg Nvidia For PS2's Sound Chip, Says Former SCEE Boss
There's clearly something wrong, here. Nvidia doesn't make audio chips afaik, and GeForce8 is not an audio chip anyway.

Re: Hacker Gets The Game Boy Camera Working On The Mega Duck
I can't wait for other countries to ban X so that developers/hackers stop posting their videos on X only. T_T
Re: Can You Match These Start Buttons With Their Consoles?
23/25, and I messed up the first one because I stupidly thought it was a trick. ^^'
(in my defense, my GBA SP is a NES edition)

Star Trader was actually released yesterday!
Re: Review: Tomb Raider Collection 1 (Evercade) - No-Frills Emulation Of Lara's Essential Adventures
@Damo Oh, I didn't know the remasters didn't have them (even though it's kinda usual in remasters).
Re: Review: Tomb Raider Collection 1 (Evercade) - No-Frills Emulation Of Lara's Essential Adventures
@Damo And I get it, even though I'm not sure Evercade caters to "modern gamers" anyway.

Re: Sierra's Ken Williams Is As Confused As You About Colossal Cave's Tiny Box
Maybe it was intentional to make the cave look even more colossal in comparison! ^^
Edit: More seriously, I think it looks cute, and I actually wish more game boxes were that small.

Re: Tecmo's Puyo Puyo Clone 'Tecmo Stackers' Is Coming To Switch & PS4 This Week
@JackGYarwood It's not available in France, either on Switch or on PlayStation (at least the web version of the store regarding the latter).
Re: Tecmo's Puyo Puyo Clone 'Tecmo Stackers' Is Coming To Switch & PS4 This Week
Is there any explanation about why some ACA releases (like last week's) skip the West?

They could have used better looking USB keys, but most people don't have a CD drive in their PC anymore, unfortunately, so it makes sense.

Re: Just Like Streets Of Rage, Altered Beast Is Getting An Action Figure
Like Axel Stone's figure, the box looks nice but the figure looks like crap. And no, the sprite looks way better than that.

Fun fact: It was supposed to be based on a famous franchise Konami didn't manage to get at the time (but got later).

@PinballBuzzbro There's actually a sequel on PlayStation 2 but I never played it and it has a bad reputation.

Mean people would say we never got a good Altered Beast 1 either, but I actually love that game.
