Ah it is of course a bit of a semantic discussion.. I guess analogue started 10y ago the 'no emulation' branding because they had to explain why their device was 3x the price of e.g. the retron 5 of those days..

My life in gaming just released a compilation of their old fpga videos... in their analogue nt review they copy the ' no emulation' monicker, later they start using 'hardware emulation''....

Of course they both have a place in gaming preservation...software because you can have easy access where you are.. (the best gaming device is the one in your pocket on your lap), and fpga to reduce lag and to understand how they worked on a chip level..

for me personally the analogue pocket really changed a lot.. I use to re-enjoy some carts... I use it to emulate lots of games on the go... I made a sort of mistercade out of it with a turning screen for Tate, and with the analogizer and snac I now enjoy the same device on a CRT tv too... up to 16 bit I'm now in heaven...

sill my Miyoo mini is always in my work bag.. more portable and cheaper..and achievements..

the accuracy for me is visible in the Amiga core.. I play sensible soccer on World Cup level.. and the timing of running is just off on wine cores.. the amiga was a complex beast with custom chips... you can feel the difference there

@JoeYabuki the gb version was actually the first game i ever bought for my gameboy. The japanese version sonce that was cheap st a nearby legendary import store. Lovely

@Banjo- digital foundry did a great video on the model 2 games showing the emulation to be excellent

i saw this the other day and really had troubles imagining how this would actually work.. and furthermore if it fits my phone (iphone 13 mini).. and then decided that it would be inferior to my existing solutin (miyoo mini plus) anyway.,..but still

nice device, but happy with my miyoo mini.. waiting for a real advance in this.. or a model with tate screenmode...

Most shmup like games i prefere on my docked pocket, fpga makes it work with less latency.. (and I have a turnable monitor for Tate)

for the rest nso is just fine, and actually getting quite good now for better framerates on n64....(and use game mode, obv)

(makes me wonder about the first AA batteries, 1907 , wow), because i'm sort of worrying they might not be available easy anymore sooner than later... although maybe usb micro cables should be more worrying, or usb b (wii u controller)... personnally i'm worries about the environmental impact btw... AA batteries are better recycable, but most aren't

On the device though, lots of what is said, was exactly what was said about the pocket in 2021... perfect gb(c), form factor, screen, cartridges... and if you use just that feature they seem comparable (and 20$ for the save states seems fair),

but then you see all those other features... i really love my pocket... I made it my personal arcade station, and my portable gb/gbc/more.. so excellent

@Razieluigi i agree (and love the virtual biy emulation). But for me the story might be something else here. Maybe the outside world should stop treating Nintendo as if it was a person, with all kinds of heavy emotions and one they have a personal relationship with.

Great that they have the connextion, but they ofcourse should have remade the only really unmissable horizontal shmup on the amiga: Apidya.

and to be honest, i do not agree with the stance... why is 'their'us eof a saturn inherently better than the enjoyment of someone else....

jamie's Qwak was great, but ATR wasn't such a good example of top down racing on the amiga (super skidmarks, i want you back!), because of the structure etc..

Oh and best sound if any playdate game. If you have earbuds in the announcing voice feels so real.

Ah nice. Just played super skidmarks kn my analogue pocket yesterday. Remains the best overhead driving game. Shame won’t be able to set uo an eight player on two amiga 1200s easily

using a mix as well... my analogu8e pocket for longer trips and gamers that have good save features and need fpga (sensible world of soccer), my miyoo mini+ is smaller and is just always in my work bag for those small moments.....

For most games soft emulation is just fine for me.. alwyas have my miyoo in my workbag..

But playing on my analogue pocket gives a number of games something (and setting it up these days is easier than pre steam pc gaming)

Now my set up is : until 16 via pocket dock, arcade setup… gc and wii on wiiu..some switch online..xbox 360 and some minis readys to go, old consoles under a crt in the attic ( but not playing them that much anymore)

I am a big sensible world of soccer playing (going to world cup this year in denmark) and for that fpga is the only way.. amiga emulation remains timing wise difficult..

(The community has chosen a different path at least for the online competitions: reverse engineerd the amiga game so that runs on modern pcs…)

I saw a youtube video on it, but still confused, is this just the original rom (but then a release in us format (and no cybernator and censorship) and deluxe), or is there any link with the declassified (https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/switch-eshop/assault-suits-valken-declassified) which i enjoyed last year, for the new translation that offered

the place is important, the buidings just random office buildings.. maybe google can redeem itself by making a nice monument with some arcade cabinets inside
