@slider1983 have you PLAYED those games bro ESPECIALLY Denjin Makai. In no universe is this game better than that, streets of rage 2, the Konami tmnt games, streets of rage 4 or shredder’s revenge, that’s like saying Avengers age of Ultron is better than The Godfather😭😭😭😭

Played this game myself. It’s alright. Graphics are some of the best on the system and blow the barren basic backgrounds of streets of rage 2 and hyperstone heist out of the water with all the little details and life in them but it also just doesn’t do anything that hasn’t been seen in the genre before. Branching paths were done 40 years ago by streets of rage 3, final fight 3 and denjin makai 2, the unlockable characters and secrets were already done by streets of rage 3 once again, it’s just a game that’s good but has already been done before. It certainly ain’t beating streets of rage 4 or shredders revenge anytime soon😂

Meh. Wish beat em up devs experimented more with the settings of their games, can only see the same “buff guy group with female in dingy modern city beating up punks” shtick before it gets rly old.

I’m all for difficult games but that original nes port always just struck me as lame compared to the other infinitely better platformers on the system. Has nothing to do with the difficulty either I just find it generic and ugly looking.

Super C is hype tho! Second best contra game imo and playing it without slowdown will be a treat!

From the sounds of this it would’ve been pre-rendered like X-Perts or Sonic 3D Blast, and IMO we REALLY dodged a bullet with that. I’m not a HUGE fan of how the polygons look, but I’ll take them any day over….that.

@BausRifle I agree tenfold but at the very least two of these characters are clearly meant to be adults which is p refreshing considering most of this genre strays as far away from of-age protags as humanly possible. Saw someone mention Muchi Muchi Pork as this "must try" shoot em up but the second i booted it up and saw the 3 main pilots all looked like toddlers I instantly nope-d tf outta there🤢

-Refusing to ever touch any of their old legacy franchises or doing it once then never again, not even referencing them or making tweets about them
-Putting a patent on loading screens having minigames meaning every other game ever was forced to have boring loading screens with nothing on them
-All they ever make nowadays is lazy licensed slop based on the same 5 shonen anime over and over again

Gonna be brutally honest this sounds like it would’ve sucked. Much as I love Tenacious D I can’t lie and say there are only CERTAIN types of movies their music would fit, and Medievil just isn’t one of them. Whole thing sounds like it’d be another ratchet and clank movie/devil may cry anime.

Played mega man 2 and beat it via his msu port and it’s SHOCKING how much of a difference this makes with games. They legit feel better to play than the actual official Wily Wars remakes IMO

I think this is fair seeing how intensive these filters can get but all the other horse$#|¥ they’ve been pulling like refusing to credit anyone who works on their projects in end-credits, suing people for being inspired by them, charging money for console tutorial software and making us pay 70-80$ for games even though they aren’t impacted by tariffs anymore is a different story. These games are all p cool, but in NO universe am I gonna pay this company's AAA 60$ prices for them when I can play them on an emulator for free. If they were budget priced like what Ratalaika or Hamster puts out I'd be all in for it. Unless it's a full on remake, modern rereleases of retro games should not be more than 20 dollars MAX.

Love this genre of eu platformer where they just completely vomit their brain onto the levels with a bunch of absurd surrealist imagery without any worry for cohesion or sense. This whole game gives me the same energy as stuff like JJ Squawkers and Top Banana only yknow. Minus the seizure risk💀

@KainXavier LITERALLY THO!!! As a kid every time I’d come up to those 500 in one arcade cabinets I’d ALWAYS immediately do this game instead of pac man or donkey kong cause it gave me that thrilling shoot and dodge gameplay that I always crave lmao. Will absolutely be picking this up ASAP.

@slider1983 that may have been the intention behind Paprium but between the game taking 10 years to come out, people not getting their cartridges even now, Fons constantly going on psychotic Joker mental breakdowns online, and the EXHORBENT price tag the game has ESPECIALLY if trying to buy it second hand completely ruin the whole thing. Why should I give this game and it’s horrible creator my money when I could get streets of rage 1-3, final fight cd, hyperstone heist, golden axe, and SO many more on the same console for (mostly) 5x less the price? Not to mention all the AMAZING modern beat em’ ups nowadays like streets of rage 4 and shredder’s revenge that similarly cost less too.

This BS is why i ALWAYS choose emulation rather than giving these psychos my money. Theyre all just a bunch of sick in the head grifters who view old video games as some bizzare get-rich-quick scheme rather than as the cherishable pieces of art they are, and it blows up in their face spectacularly. We saw it with Paprium, we saw it with SuperSega, we saw it with Strictly Limited games, we saw it with Piko interactive, and we’ll continue to see it until the end of time. Idc about the “physical authenticity” if I have to obtain said authenticity by forking 80-100 bucks over to an irl Silent Hill villain who likely won’t even deliver on their promises, it’s just not worth it to me.
