There's also EA's Shadow of the Beast. Developed in the UK, but they never bothered changing the speed of the game when releasing a PAL developed game on NTSC systems, so runs way to fast to actually play.
The Japanese version, again was fixed. Also sorted out the garish colours.
Sega's huge problem, unlike Nintendo is that they let nearly all of their classic franchises lapse out of public memory, outside of Sonic, and a lesser extent Football Manager, the casual person has no clue what else Sega makes now.
So I doubt anyone's clambering for an Alex Kidd or Golden Axe movie ATM.
After the huge success of the Super Mario Movie and The Last of Us, there's going to be a huge cash grab for a ton of gaming IP's. So I'd honestly expect to see a tsunami of them over the next 5-10 years.
Gaming movies are going to be what comic movies were in the '90s.
Look, I'm not paying $18,000 for a copy of Neo Turf Masters when the developer/publisher doesn't see a penny of that and 100% goes into the pockets of scalpers.
So yes, I do use Flash Carts, but if a homebrew devloper has a physical release of their game, I will always buy it from them, the special edition too.
Speaking of which, I STILL haven't had my copy of Paprium.
