Still have a Saturn & an original Jap PS1, both have stunning games. But out of choice I prefer Saturn, the amazing import shmups etc.. I have are second to none.
@Steel76 totally agree, so much choice for every gamer. Not just the constant barage of openworld, soulslike *****. It's basically no risk taking on anything new, or brilliant old franchises that need resurrecting.
@Serpenterror this is why this modern gaming industry sucks. They certainly don't give a toss about the older demographic of gamers who love retro gaming. It's all openworld. Micro transaction *****. Ran by corporate greed.
More fool them, this is why Sega needs new management that truly appreciates there incredible gaming heritage. All those legacy arcade titles begging to be reborn is sickening. Especially now with this comment from the powers that be. Chances are things won't be changing anytime soon. Oh & considering they bought out Technosoft, definitely no Thunderforce then.
@NinChocolate yeah maybe. Early rumours suggested the Switch 2 had a clam design. But I think that's been put to bed now for sure. As much as I'm looking forward to Switch 2, I just feel it's going to be more of the same. I miss those Nintendo quirky innovations, that bring something new to the table. Unfortunately risk taking is a thing of the past in today's cut throat industry.
Personally most of today's games are filled with crap art styles anyway. Go on the Eshop, Steam, Ps store, all flooded with mediocre, forgettable *****.
@RetroGames agreed, proves raw power isn't everything. Its about time today's devs realised this fact. I love the fact these wonderful retro consoles are still getting new games & being pushed to new limits. I'm a big fan of C64 the new games & demos are incredible on this timless micro.
@KitsuneNight yes it's weird your here, but hey each to there own. I love retro gaming, prefer to have original tech & carts obviously games like this won't be on physical.
Personally the Saturn is a beast, definitely the better system. Unfortunately Sony had the industry eating out of its hands. Even before launch, so obviously the PS1 was the lead platform. Therefore Sega was on the backfoot, maybe the Saturn was more complex, but the likes of Sega rally, VF2, Radiant silvergun showed the power when utilised properly.
Just give me the Megadrive version already. It looks incredible enough for me. Oh and I'll end buying the steam deck version so I can hook it up to my Atgames legends cab.
The rubber keyed wonder indeed, mines turned up today. I love it, yes you had to be there to really appreciate this little micro. But if you know you know.
Good things come to those who wait, looks incredible. Will be interesting to see when in 2025 it gets released. Especially with SLG in control, probably preorders in Feb, released next Xmas lol 😆
Would be great to see new games developed for this tech. Hell new games in general would be welcome on Snes. It's about time it had the love like the Megadrive.
What a joke and they moan about emulation!! The gaming industry deserves to be preserved, just like any other medium. Look at the archives film & TV have. Later generations will more than likely love to play games from the past. It should be there to be enjoyed & celebrated. Not just cast aside like rubbish. That's why arcade machines are cherished now & restored. Operators would just dump them when they no longer made money. I expect many wish they would of looked after them now lol. Long live emulation!!!
What a game, love it, have it on my Mame setup. If your into side scrolling beat em ups you'll love this. Fast action, great characters, brilliant sound!! Definitely a hidden gem from Konami that most probably don't know existed.
@turboxray yes i know i had one, i also have a Duo R with the arcade card. Probably been more easier to make a conversion of Magician lord for this setup. Considered not many own a SuperGrafx, yes the Grafx has a bit more grunt granted. But a standard arcade card version for Duo owners would be better.
