Got this gem on my Atgames legends ultimate cab. Thank God for MAME, there are so many amazing arcade games that would be lost forever without emulation.

Still got original copy for Gamecube. Won't ever sell it. Unlikely to see another F-Zero anytime soon.

Amazing game, timeless 16bit gaming. Full of replayability, something modern games lack completely mostly!!

Luckily I have plenty of legacy hardware and games. I love retro gaming from 80s 90s consoles and arcade. And personally I thank the God's for MAME & other emulaters. The amount of Arcade games I have that would of been forever forgotten is criminal. Some amazing shooters, side scrollers. Platformers, that never got a console release are essentially forgotten.

Definitely getting this one, love laser disc games. I have the Daphne emulater on my mini pc retroboss. Has all the classics but not space battle yamato. Will preorder Physical version.

I have a Neo Geo CD console, would of been great to have Final vendetta come to CD. But obviously memory restraints I guess. Still would be great to see Neo CD get some love with exclusives made for it.

Most of my kit is tucked away in cupboards. Mostly I use emulation to save my legacy tech.

@Poodlestargenerica unfortunately I'm just old school nothing much compares to the retro stuff from the 80s 90s. There are a few exceptions but most miss the mark for me.

Totally agree with seeing what the awesome SNES could be doing in 2023.

Looks ok, but still missing that certain magic from the awesome Sega Sprite scalers.

Certainly a big Article, brilliant read. What amazing times they were. These programmer's were like gods to me. Loved OCEAN, used to cut out the stunning box art ads from the magazines and stick on my bedroom wall as a young teenager. No doubt working there at the time would of been my dream job as well.

Love Splatterhouse would be great to have another reboot. With the quality SOR4, TMNT games released. Splatterhouse could be something special.

What an amazing article, have read something similar before. 16bit what a generation !! Can't believe Nintendo used Argonaut. With the plans they had the Snes could of been even better. That's what I loved about the cartridge generations, being able to add custom chips. Nowadays its no you buy a PS5 pro lol 😆

@GrailUK you and me both my friend, God I knew it was amazing at the time. But when you look back at, what a time to be a gamer!! Absolutely magical. The generations after, especially now will never hold a candle to the 16bit consoles. Thank God I still own this kit and can relive it forever until my last breath.

@carlos82 good job the hardware is a waste of time now unfortunately. Moon patrol looks great though.

What a complete waste of time, may as well just release every game that was planned for this system on switch or PS5 etc...

@-wc- thanks mate, glad to talk to someone on rhe same wave length. Fell in love with Snes instantly. Still my favourite system ever, along with the 16bit & arcades. Thanks yes I agree Axelay is one of favourites. Along with the others you mentioned, definitely my favourite genre.

Yes the PSVR2 version is incredible, Area X with eye tracking has to experienced !! Child of Eden next on PSVR 2.

Thank God for emulation that's all I can say. Especially Mame, imagine the arcsde games that would of been lost forever without if. Arcades threw these amazing games in the rubbish tip, when they weren't making money anymore. Unbelievable when you think about it now. That's the trouble with the games industry in general, to throw away. I love retro gaming so I'm biased, I think Nintendo and Sony do respect there heritage to some degree. Look at the Mario movie plenty Easter eggs in there. And a Sony example is Astro bots play room, with retro hardware:)

Good news, funny thing is there are so many retro games that would be amazing in VR. Imagine a new Starblade, Galaxy force, Silpheed, Starfox, rail shooters especially !! The sense of scale, combined with stereoscopic 3D incredible stuff could be made. Unfortunately the industry is obsessed with open world bore fests.

Downloaded over the weekend, it's brilliant. The parallax scrolling is superb, along with the gameplay. Amazing programming skills from Sarah as usual. Soulforce is another gem !!

Amazing game, Amazing system, and yes what a time to be alive. Said it many times before the 16bit era was the golden age of gaming.

Looks amazing, hopefully console release as well.

Well im 52 and feel old I can tell you. Love Rtype the pixel art is amazing. Remember playing this beauty in the arcades when released. Looking forward to Rtype final 3 on PS5 in a few weeks.

Have this on my arcade cab, had it for years. Personally it looks great but its so bloody hard its even more frustrating than Rtype.

Now this is incredible stuff, imagine Sega reworking this tech for PSVR 2. Amazing rail shooters in stereoscopic 3D. This is what I want the resurgence of the rail shooter in VR. Not just endless fps crap.

For me personally the best games came from Japan in the 80s and 90s. Who can deny the awesome arcades from those eras. To the amazing consoles from Nes, Snes, Megadrive, Neo, PC Engine, PS1, Saturn. Plain and simply the golden ages of gaming. Personally the Japanese lost there way. Its annoying when you consider the rich back catalogue of games that could and should be brought back to life. From the likes of Sega, Namco, Konami, Capcom. Another Thunderforce would be a start lol 😆

Tough call, personally i love the Saturn and Dreamcast. But I'm going on success and the sheer amount of awesome games, the Megadrive has to be king.

Definitely want to get one of these, please do a super Nintendo one. Preferably with the iconic coloured logo.
