Honestly this is a good thing. Now, on to greater things for him outside of the control of M$. Rare is Rare only in name. The company so many of us grew up with is gone. It's time for smaller studios to blossom again with smaller budgets, smaller scope and more ingenuity. Less AAA games with billion dollar budgets. Develop faster, find success or fail at times, iterate and go again.

Just please don't merge and for the love of God, please don't accept a buyout from any of the big 3.

Bye. You won't be missed when you're gone. You've ruined modern gaming for me entirely. After getting my account banned (for reasons entirely unbeknownst to me) and losing out on over 20 years of purchases, saves and achievements I couldn't be happier that the Xbox brand is failing. While I don't celebrate people losing their jobs, I certainly believe this behemoth needs to go bye bye. Hopefully, this will result in gaming companies returning to what they used to do best - create games that are fun. But hey, who am I? Just a guy stuck in the 90s when we purchased a game and a console, we actually owned it. When day one (and day 1,695) patches weren't a thing. When DLC was an actual add on for a PC game rather than something that should have been shipped with the original game. Thankfully my back log is huge and I'm not a graphics wh0r3. I love pure games that are fun to play. The modern gaming industry has lost me and at this point I'm ready to sit back and watch it burn in its own flames of missteps and lack of listening to customers.

I was hoping to see a resurgence of stock, availability and improved distribution in the US :/.

Such a fun game. Brings back a lot of childhood memories playing with a specific friend trying to figure out the puzzles.

Why would they not release this with 6 face buttons

To me, the atmosphere of the game is as important as the graphics and gameplay. The announcer and music of the first two games was TOP NOTCH. I still listen to those CDs every once in a while. There was just so much charm to it all. The series started to take itself too seriously with Rage Racer and even though RR4 was pretty good, the game had lost it's identity at that point. It's like Namco wanted to compete with Gran Turismo and forgot they were producing a fun, easy to pick up but tough to master, arcade racer.

The phrase "illegally imported" strikes me as laughable.

@Ristar24 thanks for the reply! If you get a chance, play the 2nd one on Saturn (or through emulation). It's fantastic!

In a way, he's not wrong. But the same could be said for gaming overall. What real life skills are any of us leaning by gaming? How much time of our lives have we invested into this entertainment medium? Ahh, but that's it, isn't it? I'm not looking to learn any skills while gaming. I'm looking for entertainment. For me, as long as I'm entertained by gaming, I'm satisfied. Now, there has to be a balance though. If gaming has become an addiction and you don't function as an adult because of it, that's a problem. In that case though you need to move on from gaming and, as he says, grow up. Life moves fast. Before you know it you'll be in your 50s. You don't want to be there, looking back at your life saying, "What have I done with my life besides sit in front of a screen?". Just food for thought.

@Ristar24 I never played Panzer Dragoon back in the day. My 16 year old brain just didn't get the point as I was huge into MK and my love for racing games was beginning to blossom. As an adult the remake brought me to the series and I loved it. I've gone on to buy a Saturn and both of the main line games (RPG is just cost prohibitive). I'm honestly curious, what were your issues with the remake? I think I recall it not being well received by everyone but I don't remember why.

@Daze_of_Reality I'm going to assume that this is probably just because it's already been ported to the Xbox 360 which I dount requires a lot of work to get it working on the Xbox One or Xbox Series. As for why it didn't come to PS4/5 is kind of a good question though considering it was on PS3.

I bought this with zero hesitation. Let's hope Sega or MS doesn't pull some kind of garbage where you need to hop online for ANY reason to play this.

Not saying any of this is wrong. At all. That's a super, super cool shell. But I'm of a different mindset here. I love my stock white DC and plan to keep it that way as long as possible. I love being able to play physical media and light gun games on my CRT. Just my opinion and I know my opinion is just that, my opinion.

To me, while the 32x was certainly a contributing factor to Sega's demise, it absolutely was not the only one. As a hardware manufacturer, Sega died by a thousand paper cuts. Most of them inflicted due to their own mistakes

So take Halo, use Contra-ish assets and sounds and call it Contra in VR. Got it. I say this as someone who considers Contra on the NES to be in their top 5 most favorite games to play,. To this day as a matter of fact I continue to pick it up and play it. I also bought the physical release of Operation Galuga and enjoyed it. This though.... kind of looking meh but it's also not for me because I don't have a VR headset nor do I have any intention of buying one ever.

As with other's here, I'm definitely hoping this results in cartridge releases. I'd love to have physical copies of some old school SNK game. Even though I own an MVS cabinet and a few carts (not such a subtle gloat I guess 🤷), I'd still take any physical SNK love we can get!
