Ah man, this is great! I’m glad he covered the plug and plays, I played a LOT of that Ms Pac-Man one. I think I still have it somewhere. Pole Position was great on that with the twist steering <3
I’m forever an 8-bit Namco fan, but this came at just the right time. I’ve been playing that new Mountains game non stop with my wife and the little voxelled sprites combined with the music and sound effects is 11/10. Hoping they can sell me extra stages for more of the classics!
I get the digital detox thing but I’d either make do with a £50 Nokia for calls and sms, or lock down a £200 smartphone if I still wanted Spotify, Maps and WhatsApp. If this was half the money it’d make more sense but it’s still ugly af, and that’s coming from a guy who sees the RAZR V3 and atomic purple GBC as peak design.
@Teksette Jealous on the AES+! I wish Blaze would get a simple usb paddle controller out, it surprises me that they haven’t. I’m sure plenty of VS and Alpha owners would grab one at £20. I know I’d take two!
@leogames no, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for ethical consumerism. I wouldn’t get on a high horse over it though. Nobody lives guilt free in this world. As you point out, there’ll be many other products where an individual isn’t even aware of the dirty money/ evil deeds of a given corporation. It’s not wise to judge.
Anyway, sorry, not a personal grievance. It’s just an F’d world we live in. ✌️

I have the Taito Super Pocket that covers a number of these but big screen Puzzle Bobble and multiplayer Football Champ are worth it alone for me. Already got some 4 player FC lined up for Saturday night. Perfect for beer led pick up and play fun 🍻⚽️
Very sad to hear. Ben was a very knowledgeable and helpful guy. I really appreciate his contribution to the scene having purchased a Harlequin 128k kit and DivMMC amongst other bits from him in the past. RIP 🙁
