Original Story []: A reported retail leak suggests that Evercade's December releases will include compilations of two classic series: The Last Ninja and James Pond. The listing was spotted by outlet Total Video Games, which noticed a gun-jumping placeholder on retailer The Game Collection.
According to the listing, The Last Ninja & IK Collection will include 14 games pulled from the high-kicking Last Ninja and International Karate series, including The Last Ninja trilogy, Ninja Remix (1990), International Karate (1985), and the pants-dropping classic IK+ (1987)
The collection will include a variety of home ports for each title. This will allow players to experience both Last Ninja 2's famously transcendental C64 soundtrack back-to-back with its ear-ripping, almost apocalyptic Spectrum counterpart - music that, somehow, is trying to hurt you.
James Pond, who is fast becoming gaming's single most headline-inducing hero despite his series having little discernible impact whatsoever, will return in The James Pond Collection, which includes James Pond: Underwater Agent (1990), James Pond II: RoboCod (1991), James Pond in Operation StarFI5H (1993), and James Pond in The Aquatic Games (1992).
This Evercade release is not to be confused with James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough, a separate collection currently being produced by System 3. We didn't need one James Pond collection.
Should the listing prove legitimate, The Last Ninja & IK Collection and The James Pond Collection are scheduled to launch on the Evercade platform December 4.
