System 3 has just released the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming retro collection, James Pond Legacy.
The trailer shows footage from all four games included in the pack, as well as its digital museum. There's also a focus on the various modern features that will be included, such as screen filters, save states, border artwork and more.
While the trailer is a massive improvement over the first one because it at least shows some gameplay, it still includes some of the controversial GenAI artwork (including Creepy Keith, who has four fingers on one hand and three on the other), as well as a spelling mistake.
At the 40-second mark, the box artwork for Tectoy's release of James Pond 3 is described as 'Brazilin'. Eek.
System 3 came under fire when it launched the initial trailer after claiming that all of the new assets were human-made – something that has been contested by pretty much anybody with eyes.
Since then, we broke the news that System 3 subcontracted the development work on James Pond Legacy to Antstream, the company behind the popular retro gaming cloud streaming service. Antstream is also developing Alien Breed: 35th Anniversary Collection for Commodore.
