@GravyThief blow out of water is an overstatement lol also like I said snes had games that were better- but Sega had way more games that were better than snes . they had more games that did it better. snes had games that were better done also. the problem mainly is that snes wasn't fast enough. had a faster processor than the Super Nintendo. The Genesis's Motorola 68000 CPU ran at 7.67 MHz, while the SNES's Ricoh 5A22 ran at 3.58 MHz. so in general it played smoother and had less graphical power to worry about. where as the snes had more detailed games(this is also subjective however on some games it was obvious that backgrounds were nicer than sGen) but that it was too slow to take advantage of this . i mean what a shame about the snes if it only were fast enough it would be better clearly, but it isnt.
Lovely graphics, punching above their weight as per usual. always has done one thing they had over snes not just the Disney games but sound in general was better too. often sega MD/Gen had less graphical power in stats but it didnt often turn out that way. sega Gen had faster processor and better handling of sprites. Sega had better sound (mostly). Genesis/Mega Drive utilizes FM synthesis, which can produce a crisp, unique sound, the SNES relies on sampled audio, which some find muffled or less impactful.
iv been successfully emulating it on my pc for years from windows 7 to w11. a very good 'game pc' system. good looking about amiga1200 level maybe a bit lower but splitting hairs on that. if i was to get the actual system i wouldn't bother with he lowest one id get the best 1 as it wouldn't cut it as far as my emu setup.
Yeah nah Amiga 500 was better all round for any game and I had that pc also it was a 1200 with a quick upgrade, basically a 1200 which was Amiga at its best. atari st was like 2nd best all the time.
@N64-ROX yes good point. I think what you really meant was the smooth graphics cos thats what it just had over ps1 as far as twice the graphical power(though they didnt always show this) but having said that as you must know that PlayStation had everything under the sun but n64 had about 10 very good games including the star wars game a few others. but I don't think you are disagreeing with me because yes Tony Hawk 2, 200 other great games including games made for euro and oceanic sports lovers 'Rugby' and soccer. they still have the best rugby game ever made in Jonah Lomu Rugby' but ps1 covered every aspect horror, fantasy, sports, platformers, Rally v rally champ edition, crash, rayman spyro, croc. hundreds others. so yes it was clearly better. I waited for the ps1 from the first 32 bit sega saturn and yes ps1 did things better than the saturn(except for some fighting games) but even these splitting hairs.
Yes to both comments above I remember so well the underwater ones and much more. much like amiga pc games it would always have great music. PS1 games the same thing and demos were fun to play and were not stingy either. proper demos they were. As for scary music? hmm it was full but nothing over the top it was for teens and older teens and adults mainly. n64 was for kiddies
