Re: This N64 Flash Cart Has A Built-In Screen That Shows Which Game Is Running

I can't tell if some of these commenters are too young or just forgetful.

1) This is an awesome idea. Back in the day it did remind you what game you had in, and back then families shared consoles too so the games would constantly be swapped.

2) The game artwork is awesome too look at.

3) Awesome proof of concept. Not perfect, but I'd love to see a proper implementation of this.

Re: Xbox 360, PS3 And Nintendo Wii U Are "Officially Retro", Says GameStop

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I really hate what GameStop has become, but I get it. Ignoring the obvious marketing going on in their statement - the PS3 launched in 2006 I think, and I remember buying the launch edition used from some cracked out girl in Camden, NJ that also tried to sell me pills and coke (but not weed??)

The PS3 launch to now is the same time difference as the NES to the PS3 (in the US). We have come so far but the returns are so unbelievably diminished - how much nicer can video games look? Is it worth the insane expense and time to get an AAA game released? Does it even make sense to launch a new console in under 10 years? That's an article for another day I guess hah

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Retro Gaming Resolutions For The New Year?

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I've recently discovered Retroachievements and it's breathed new life into my gaming! I've made a list of the classics from my childhood and mastered a Pokémon Blue, now I'm alternating between a few games depending where I'm playing and how - handheld I'm doing Bomberman Hero, Pokémon Stadium, and maybe Golden Sun, and with a controller it'll be Mercenaries, True Crime: Streets of LA, WWF Here Comes the Pain and possibly Scarface.

Didn't expect to ever hear of this game again. I think it might be the first game I've ever purchased on Steam. I was awful at it but it was actually really fun. I'm not a huge FPS person but a couple years ago I actually was hoping to try it out again and, of course, it's unplayable now.

Although that's pretty cool the fans have kept it alive! I didn't know that

Re: Random: This Decade-Old Nintendo Handheld Is Now Worth Almost As Much As A Switch 2

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I bought a New 2DS XL back in February and it's great. Small enough to actually be portable, folds over so the screens are protected, plays a ton of amazing games (and only the Vita covers most of what it doesn't). My biggest problem with the Switch was how annoying it was to carry around as a "portable" device.. with my 2DS I can easily play it while travelling.

And there are a ton of DS and 3DS gems you can't nicely play on any other system just because of the screens

Re: Someone Has Created A Version Of Windows For Game Boy, And Yes, It Includes Minesweeper

ItsAlwaysSunnyyy

I still have my first PC! My dad bought it, runs Windows 3.1 perfectly fine and the only issue is the backlight(?) on the ancient monitor is dead. But you can see the screen if you squint in a pitch black room! Pretty sure I still have some of those old games on their too, I specifically remember a Jetsons game and if you beat it you got a link to a website or something

Re: It's A Christmas Miracle, SuperSega Now Claims Sega Is Totally OK With Its FPGA Console

This is so unbelievably fake that I hope Sega sues him 🙄 the balls on some people. No corporation would ever send a letter like that, they certainly wouldn't admit wrongdoing, and they ABSOLUTELY would not blame their professional, hired companies for something this insignificant.

If anyone buys anything from this guy you're an absolute fool. Even if it's a seemingly good product, he can't be trusted. And there are many other great products out there.
