A dedicated space for projects worth caring about it a great idea but I wouluch rather it be a news site or something. Discords always turn into turn into drama fests and then everyone gets mad and leaves.
I'm very grateful for the fact that Capcom makes so much of their back catalog easily accessible in the modern day. I have both of the arcade collections, and all of the fighting collections and Mega Man collections. They're all very well done and I enjoy playing them. I'll be more than glad to add this one to the list.
I love my Virtual Boy, I'm just 3 games shy from having the complete library (not including imports from American). My favorites are Mario Clash and Red Alarm.
So it's not actually a prototype of Pokemon, it's a prototype of the translation, which is the complete game and isn't any different from Pocket Monsters Blue. In other words: it's worthless.
I hate to be the guy to go against the marketing but these devices are definitely not the definitive way to play these games. That honor goes to real hardware.
@Damo not at all. I just don't understand why you refuse to cover one company on the basis of morals while covering other companies while providing disclaimers about moral issues. As a reader of the site it feels like an inconsistency.
Personally, if I could have it my way, AI slop projects and Chinese emulator handhelds wouldn't get any articles at all and I'd have more editorials to fill in that space.
@-wc- it can be a bad movie while still being enjoyable to watch. You would be a fool to expect a cinematic masterpiece from a movie based on Street Fighter.
I'm vaguely interested in getting this to put next to my C64U but it seems that it doesn't ship to my region. Hopefully it will be available locally like their Pac-Man 2600 was.
@Van_Helsing lmao Nintendo would never take that deal. Nintendo has no shortage of their own franchises to produce games for, or could always make a new one. They would never essentially rent one from another company.
That being said, that Smash Bros DLC essentially handed Microsoft a golden platter to bring back the series and they totally blew it. Even if they had nothing in the works, all they had to do was say they would make a new one in response to the excitement around the character in Smash and that would have been enough.
Doing a task with AI means it wasn't worth your time to do it yourself. If it wasn't worth your time to make it, why would it be worth my time to play it? Also using AI guarantees that whatever you make can only ever be derivative. Why would I want to play something that doesn't innovate at all?
I don't understand this release at all. Not only is it key card slop, but City Connection already released all of these games on Switch in an actual physical edition which is still available.
I don't understand the mean comments here. If he gets the right people on board, this could potentially get a cartridge release just as many other games have in recent years.
Is the artwork used in the main article image illustrated by the guy who wrote the manga Touch and H2? My wife went to school together with his daughter, so it feels weird seeing his stuff pop up in random places. It's a small world.
@h3s the bios is already finished. The only thing taking time is that they had to change the chips they were using and when you put in an order it takes months before you can receive them and then they have to do manufacturing after receiving all of the chips.

Re: After 2 Years of Sneak Peeks, Fangame 'Super Mario & The Rainbow Stars' Just Got A Spooktacular Second Chapter
@Daniel36 Sega shuts down fan games too. In recent years they went after Streets of Rage and Crazy Taxis projects?

Next it will get a cease and desist notice

Re: Waveling Island Is an Upcoming Creature-Collecting Sim for PC & Xbox with Some Serious GBA-Vibes
I'd rather just play Pokemon, Pikmin, or Survival Kids.
Re: 'There Will Always Be a Role Left for Us to Play' - In an AI-Filled World, Miyamoto Thinks the Human Touch Will Always Be Vital
@axelhander Nintendo isn't using AI. They have specifically stated on multiple occasions that they don't use AI.
Re: 'There Will Always Be a Role Left for Us to Play' - In an AI-Filled World, Miyamoto Thinks the Human Touch Will Always Be Vital
This guy was just rewarded the order of culture. Nobody who uses AI will ever win that award.
Re: IPPON! Samurai Shodown Joins a Crop of SNK Movies in Production at The Arena
Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting could make for great movies if they're set at the time as the games are. Not sure about Samurai Spirits.

Re: 80% of All PS3 Games Now 'Playable' on PC, Thanks to the Talented Team Behind RPCS3
I can't think of any PS3 games worth going back to that aren't already available on modern platforms. Maybe 3D Dot Heroes. Anything else?

Re: Antstream Is Creating An AI-Powered Brain Rot Gaming Platform, And 'Mr Antichrist' Peter Thiel Is A Backer
@Damo you're not wrong, but Anstream's thing is being backed by the "antichrist", isn't that worse?
Re: Antstream Is Creating An AI-Powered Brain Rot Gaming Platform, And 'Mr Antichrist' Peter Thiel Is A Backer
@Damo I don't subscribe to antstream. I play games from physical cartridges.
If you want people to be informed then shouldn't you be covering mod retro with a disclaimer like you do for SNK stuff? I don't mean that as a dig.

Re: After Three Decades, Toaplan's Zero Wing Is Getting An Official Release For The Neo Geo, Here's Why
I'm so excited for this. Zero Wing is awesome on the Mega Drive, playing it on the Neogeo will be so cool.
I'm hoping that his ports of Shinobi and Golden Axe can get licensed as well.

I don't get the point of recomps anyway, vibe coded or not. Just emulate the game or run it on real hardware.

@h3s because the bios is meant to b upgradable/user replaceable.
