Never bought an import game, never met anyone who did - at least in the 90s. I remember reading a lot about importing games and consoles in the magazines but I couldn't afford them. Even buying an extra controller or a memory card was a stretch!

In Italy Japanese animation in the late 80s / early 90s was literally the most popular on TV, that's what I grew up with. But I guess Italy was a very small market for gaming so it didn't matter.

I would have loved this at the time, and I would still try it now if the perspective wasn't so wrong.

@N00BiSH in that case maybe they can do with Star Fox what they did with Crash Bandicoot and give us a proper sequel in a couple of years? actually now I'm not sure if they worked on Crash 4 too

Wave Race 64 or Wipeout 64 recompiled would be nice... they would look great at 60 fps.

I don't know what they were doing on the N64 but I'm glad they did it. I loved Wipeout 64.

@RetroGames wow are you saying that predictions shouldn't be allowed? that's such a weird statement. It's a prediction based on announcements that have been made. You make it sound like it's all made up. Human beings have the mental ability to use today's facts to make informed predictions and decisions in the future, and this website is correctly reporting on it. If I was in the US and was considering buying a retro handheld, I would buy it sooner rather than later, to avoid any risk.

@KitsuneNight I'm not making comparisons, the 3DO was so expensive that I never saw one in person (still haven't). Just sharing my personal experience as a sports car lover. At the time not even my local arcades had any 3D racing games.

I absolutely loved the first Need for Speed on PSX. It was my first game on the console and I had never seen anything like that before, it was revolutionary.

I think bad N64 emulation is a bigger problem. Playing F-Zero X is still fun but quite annoying with that inconsistent frame rate.

Based on the current scores, Wipeout 64 seems massively underrated. I consider it very close to Wipeout 2097 and I probably spent a similar amount of hours on it at the time.

I re-connected my Wii U last week, for the first time since 2017. Still working perfectly, had a great time playing Ducktales Remastered!

Very interesting reference to the mix between British and Japanese Sci-Fi, I never thought about it but it's actually a great combination, the atmosphere of the first Star Fox has never been replicated. I wish Nintendo had approved his proposal for an HD remaster!

SNES for 2D games, with the original PS controller close second.
For 3D games I would say that the GameCube one is the most comfortable but the XBOX one controller might be better overall.

Reading the comments under that Youtube video, apparently Nintendo didn't want this to be published because at the time they didn't want 3D games on the GBA.
