@Right_Said_Brett The Megadrive/Genesis version did have scanline overlay at least. Look at the screenshot you can clearly see the option "post-processing" so that suggests to me that there are some options at least. Furthermore, you could feed the output into a Morph 4k or similar for even more advanced effects with a completely clean digital signal. The stock SNES does output RGB but is a pretty bad image by RGB standards and quite blurry, it's better on the rarer 1chip/mini consoles but those consoles have their own drawbacks. Even so it's not for me, if I'm going to use an original SNES I want all original hardware, for FPGA I'd prefer a Mister.
Keep in mind this isn't a pure HDMI mod for the SNES, like the Megaswitch HD this works by using FPGA to recreate some or all of the SNES' video hardware. Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing, it's neither bad nor good it's just something to be aware of.
@Guspaz Regarding VAT, remember although customers outside the EU can take the VAT off at point of purchase, there may be import taxes and other fees to pay at their countries border. Customers inside the EU all taxes are covered so there's never any import or handling fees.

@Right_Said_Brett No but modern scalers can get very close, and the MegaSwitch also had basic scanline overlays, post processing etc built in.

Re: An Embarrassed Sony Had To Beg Nvidia For PS2's Sound Chip, Says Former SCEE Boss
@Sayyadina Toshiba's involvement in PS2 is well documented but, there is no mention of Nvidia ever being involved at all, until now I suppose.
Re: An Embarrassed Sony Had To Beg Nvidia For PS2's Sound Chip, Says Former SCEE Boss
The SPU2 handles the sound on the PS2, I've never heard of Nvidia being involved with it at all.. are we sure he's not confusing the PS2 and the PS3?
Re: Hardware Review: The Open Source Scan Converter Is Every Retro Gamer's Dream Come True
@Guspaz Depends on the value of the package, I think the USA has a very generous $800 minimum before taxes are applied.
