Update #2 []: Following last week's leak, Evercade maker Blazer has now officially unveiled its upcoming slate of DOOM-related products.
As we referenced in our previous post, this includes a brand new Evercade cartridge featuring DOOM and DOOM II, as well as six official mission packs and a special collection of Deathmatch levels to play through. It is now available to pre-order on Funstock UK, Funstock Europe, and Funstock USA for £24.99/€29,99/$29.99, with shipping expected to start on October 30th, 2026, if you want to buy a copy. However, it isn't the only DOOM-related item to be announced.
That's because Blaze has also revealed a DOOM Edition of its Evercade Nexus handheld, which will be available to pre-order on August 7th, 2026 (that's tomorrow!) on Funstock sites, at 3 pm BST/10 AM EDT.
According to the announcement, this is limited to only 3000 copies and costs £199.99/€239.99/249.99. It also comes with a bunch of DOOM-related goodies, including a certificate of authenticity, a double-sided poster, a copy of the DOOM comic, a keyring, and a protective hard-shell carry case.
Update #1 []:
A listing for DOOM Collection on Evercade has been spotted online.
The cart, which was teased back in February of this year, appears to include the original PC versions of DOOM and DOOM 2, and comes on a red cartridge.
Original Story []: Evercade maker Blaze has announced it will bring the DOOM series to the platform this year.
The teaser shown below doesn't give much away, but it would be reasonable to expect a DOOM collection showcasing at least the first two titles, which were originally released on PC and console back in the 1990s.
Created by id Software, DOOM is one of the most famous FPS franchises of all time; its most recent instalment is 2025's DOOM: Dark Ages.
Here's the accompanying message from Blaze:
From all of us at Blaze, we’d like to wish our friends at id Software a Happy 35th Anniversary!
To celebrate, we’ve dropped a little teaser of what’s to come this year with Evercade and their iconic franchise - DOOM!
We’ll be talking more about this great partnership later in 2026, but for now, enjoy the teaser!
DOOM joins the likes of Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, Broken Sword and Duke Nukem on the Evercade hardware ecosystem, which currently includes the EXP-R, VS-R, Super Pocket and Alpha devices.
