Re: Hands On: This Super Mario World Vinyl Soundtrack Takes You Right Back To 1990

I still have my original CD of this album from the 90s. Purchased at great expense on ebay back in the day. It was one of my first ebay purchases in fact. I still listen to it often and think how far we've come. Video game music is everywhere now from original soundtracks to fan remixes and much of it easily accessible through streaming sites or importing. Back when I was a teen and really getting into video game music it was so difficult to find it anywhere, I couldn't imagine where we are now.

I don't regret the big purchase of this original album though. It's a proud collectors item and reminds me of a simpler time.

Wow, blast from the past. I remember playing this alot on the family PC back in 1996. I'll definitely give this a revisit. I was a star wars obsessed 12 year old at the time and this was one of the first games I bought for the PC.

I remember being impressed with the sound effects and music and the fact they filmed new scenes with real actors (this was before the prequels were a thing). Any new star wars was exciting to me.

It'll be interesting to see how I feel about it now.

I remember being gutted back on 2001 when I went to see this at the cinema. It wasn't what I wanted or expected from a final fantasy movie. There were some broad thematic links (Gaia, spirits, life stream etc) but beyond that it was unrecognisable.

I must admit though that once I stopped caring about the Final fantasy bit and just took the movie for what it was, I quite liked it. Impressive animations and technology and a surprisingly deep and complex soundtrack.

The interesting thing to me is that I've found I've rewatched this film more than advent children and feel it actually is a better overall product (Even though AC is the movie I was screaming for back in 2001!)
