I love Desert Strike so this definitely appeals to me, but will have to see what the pricing is like as the Steam page currently doesn't say what it will be.
If it only has one map and is around £20 I'll probably pass until more content is available.
I always liked the idea of this but thought some of the carts were a bit pricey, but my bigger issue is them removing some from sale.
I get they won't manufacture them forever, but considering who this is aimed at it seems odd that I'm already going to have to turn to eBay and CEX to purchase some carts... Due to that I won't be buying into Evercade.
@avcrypt you can choose all those things you say you can't, you can speak to your IT team at work, you could work for another company, you could choose not to fly... I'm not having a go but saying you have no choice isn't true.
They might be difficult, expensive or uncomfortable choices but you do have them if you feel strongly enough.
As per my comment above, I'm not judging you, I just don't like folks being hypocritical (in my opinion).
@KainXavier that's all good, but you are making excuses, I just selected a few examples but there are many more. I bank with Starling in the UK as they are rated as one of the more ethical banks (but it's a low bar overall), it's not hard to move banks these days.
Palmer is well known and as such people call him and his companies out, which they absolutely are entitled to do.
And this is an entirely optional purchase, it's not something anyone needs.
My issue is with people being hypocritical and saying this thing over here is bad, but all these other things I am going to justify, and I'm not calling out any other board members or CEOs but I've heard of this bloke so will make a fuss about him.
I don't claim to be better than anyone else, like you I do what I think is right, but I'm not preaching and condemning others for their decisions (not saying you are either mate).
I find the pitch forks out mentality for modretro a bit confusing.
Google and Microsoft have defence contracts, GM produce engines for military vehicles, Boeing and Airbus build military aircraft, JPMorgan Chase invest in arms.
Just want to clarify besides modretro you're not involved with any of the above right?
And let's not go down the animal welfare route, any veggies in the chat or are you happy with the wholesale slaughter of millions of animals everyday?
You're absolutely right that the Game Boy's portability was a huge factor in the success of the original console. That said, the head-to-head 'Battle mode'—which was enabled by the Game Link Cable—was a central and heavily promoted feature of the original Tetris for Game Boy. It transformed the game from a solitary puzzle experience into a competitive one, and many fans consider it a key part of what made that specific version so iconic. Later versions of the game on other platforms that lacked this multiplayer element often received criticism for that very reason.
@Porco they are early prototypes, not retail releases.
I get not everyone sees the importance, but if you had an early draft of say the first Harry Potter or The Hobbit there would likely be a number of differences to the published books which would be of interest to many.
Could this news story not just talk about the announcement rather than attempting to stir up an argument as to the merits of AI artwork?
Particularly as the post mentioned is on a social media platform I hadn't even heard of until today and has 13 likes... I mean is that really a mass of fan outrage?
Can we try and avoid the clickbait articles please.

Re: "Please Support Us" Pleads Yuzo Koshiro As Pirated Earthion ROM Appears Online
@Paintboxer going to do the same. I think they made a mistake not offering the rom for download directly.
It was obviously going to be made available online almost immediately so why not give people the means to play it how they want.
I don't want to play it on Steam, this will be great on my Mega Drive Mini, Batocera mini pc or half dozen handhelds I own.

Re: Accusations Of AI Art Deflate Archer Maclean's DropZone 40th Anniversary Announcement
@Damo i get that, but this is an image on a social media post, possibly the digital box art, it's not in the game.

Re: New F-Zero ROM Hack Brings Maximum Velocity Tracks To SNES Original
Way to kill the fun, was having a bit of a joke, lighten up fella.
Re: New F-Zero ROM Hack Brings Maximum Velocity Tracks To SNES Original
@Poodlestargenerica yes it's a UK thing and it's the correct way...
You don't spell out N.A.S.A, you say it as a word. Same for SNES & NES.
