I cancelled my preorder when they announced the delay, considering getting from Amazon now as if it's not as good as hoped they do have a decent returns policy.

Interestingly the box on Amazon has the Amiga logo showing now which is nice but doesn't really make a difference, at least for me.

@WaveBoy Dreamcast is one of my all-time fav consoles I still own my original machine plus a ton of games, light gun, arcade stick and fishing controller... Had to sell my 8 and 16 bit consoles to afford the next upgrade back in the day (it still kills me) but was earning proper money by the time the DC was released so actually kept this one.

Have thought about selling it though as it's going to need a recap at some point and I can't be arsed with the expense and I seldom actually use it and stick to emulation for the most part.

@WaveBoy I had the original PSVR and had to sell it, besides it being a faff with too many cables I couldn't get past the motion sickness despite trying for a long time.

Eve Valkyrie was too much for me but somewhat understandable given the loops and barrel rolls.

But unfortunately I couldn't play Astro Bot either, walking or doing the warping thing which was supposed to reduce the sickness. I know I'm not the only one, great you enjoyed it but it's very unlikely to be anything other than a niche product. PSVR 2 is a flop, we'll see what Valve can do but I doubt it's going to be a game changer but happy to be proved wrong.

Maybe it's another Atari shaped Blade Runner-esque hotel, just what we all need.

VR is a nice idea but it's like 3D TV and too much faffing about and overpriced.

@Sketcz it's not just dodgy local takeaways using AI with photos of food which bear no resemblance to reality, McDonald's has been doing that for decades.

Every business is using AI now, in some form or another, tickets for support, email responses, marketing material, data analysis, the list goes on. The genie ain't going back in the bottle.

@WileyDragonfly You can easily go and look at the patch notes, since the original release there have been a number of significant changes which wouldn't have been in the cart if they'd released them at the same time.

@GodlessPreservation The Mountain Dew comparison doesn't really hold up. People buy Mountain Dew for the taste, and it delivers that. But people buy Analogue products specifically for the 'ingredients'-the hardware-level accuracy they promised.

I always liked the idea of this but thought some of the carts were a bit pricey, but my bigger issue is them removing some from sale.

I get they won't manufacture them forever, but considering who this is aimed at it seems odd that I'm already going to have to turn to eBay and CEX to purchase some carts... Due to that I won't be buying into Evercade.

@avcrypt you can choose all those things you say you can't, you can speak to your IT team at work, you could work for another company, you could choose not to fly... I'm not having a go but saying you have no choice isn't true.

They might be difficult, expensive or uncomfortable choices but you do have them if you feel strongly enough.

@KainXavier that's all good, but you are making excuses, I just selected a few examples but there are many more. I bank with Starling in the UK as they are rated as one of the more ethical banks (but it's a low bar overall), it's not hard to move banks these days.

You're absolutely right that the Game Boy's portability was a huge factor in the success of the original console. It was obviously going to be made available online almost immediately so why not give people the means to play it how they want.

I don't want to play it on Steam, this will be great on my Mega Drive Mini, Batocera mini pc or half dozen handhelds I own.

I get not everyone sees the importance, but if you had an early draft of say the first Harry Potter or The Hobbit there would likely be a number of differences to the published books which would be of interest to many.
