@RupeeClock You can't say this for sure because we don't know if the translators (which there are some involved in this project) compared the japanese text with the AI translation.
From my personal experience, most of the text translated from JP to EN in most AI tools are fine and context aware, but in a game full of word plays they'll probably have some work to do.
From the last patch, for exemple, they have changed the name of an item to better reflect the IRL product the item was refering too, and this shows how they are trying to make it a very hands-on project that uses AI as a kick start.
@LowDefAl My point is: AI is a tool, and they seem to be using it properly while being very transparent about it.
What I don't understand is this trend of being confrontational and assuming that everyone using AI is one of those chuds making "slop" videos on Instagram.
I'm defending their project because I actually want to play Segagaga. Unlike you, I am actually putting the GDI file into my GDEMU to verify their work and form my own opinion, instead of just joining the bandwagon.
Being critical of something also involves being informed to prove your point. Maybe you should try that.
@Right_Said_Brett I was misinformed about this. In fact they had people translating and checking everything, but the game has too much text and they made a basic version using AI help and then revised everything. You if you take your head out of your ass for a sec and spend a few minutes of your life reading their readme, you'll see they are pretty open about it and even provide the tools for those who want to try a more accurate translation of the game.
Would you prefer the game to remain in japanese forever just because you hate every use of the AI technology? Because I'm not seeing your name attached to any translation project and I bet that you only know English and never took your time to learn anything else.
I do believe that the guys behind Segagaga double-checked everything. They're not just tourists into rom hacking, but they lacked people who had japanese knowledge in their team.
I'd give this project a chance at least, the Hilltop guys are being defensive (for a good reason), but they should at least TEST what they are criticizing.
@MoriyaMug So? I have a small youtube channel and every so often I receive some bad criticism but that's not reason for me to consider that every person who watches me is a hater.
So he gets upset with a very vocal minority that reaches him on social media to complain, and that’s enough for him to assume that every Android user “doesn’t want updates”?
And what about people who use handhelds like the Retroid Pocket and similar devices?
Maybe he should make DuckStation open source, or at least allow an official fork maintained by someone else. And he should also improve the way he handles criticism a bit, because it’s not healthy for anyone to have such a fragile ego.

Re: "If That Bothers You, I Understand" - Android Devices Get A Nintendo StreetPass Successor, But Of Course There's A Catch
it bothers me that the guy still needs to explain how he used AI in his project when it is clearly a passion project he worked on his free time.

Re: Why Should Sega Have All The Fun? Looks Like The SNES Is Getting A Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night Port, Too
I'm just glad the SNES is getting more than just Classic Kong.
I wish there was a modern devkit for the system that's widenly used like the SGDK.
