Definitely excited to hear more about this one. I was hoping emulation for the original Xbox would've been further along at this point, but JSRF might actually be the game I wanted to play most from that entire library... so this is excellent news.
Between this, the Telenet Shooting Collection and LRG announcing that the Earnest Evans Collection is also coming to Steam, I'm becoming cautiously optimistic that their upcoming games — specifically the Falcom PC-Engine games and Toshindens 1-3 — might get the same treatment.
@hste Depends on how you pronounce "SNES". If you say "S-N-E-S", then it would be "an". If you just say it like "sness", then you'd be right and they should have used an "a".
That being said, this is kind of cool. It's a shame that they didn't try porting the original Clock Tower to GBA back in the day. That would've been the perfect way to bring it to the West back in the day.
I liked the first Panzer Dragoon remake, but after what happened with their HotD2 remake, I can't deny that I'm skeptical about how this one will turn out.
Man, my uncle had one of these things when I was really little! It was cool enough that someone decided to do a recreation of MineStorm called Storm Mined, but this thing looks dope. I'll have to keep my eye on the campaign.
While this is pretty cool, it's a shame that they didn't include the original PC port of DMC4 with the Special Edition. It was actually pretty remarkable at the time... and if GOG's whole point is preservation, it would've been a cool bonus.
Funny that you mentioned the Basement Brothers in this little diatribe of yours. I actually enjoy that channel... but that probably has something to do with the fact that they're actually discussing aspects of Japanese gaming history like enthusiasts, as opposed to just using it as a bludgeon against Americans like the author of this "article".
