@Axelay71 Earthion is some real voodoo. Then again the X68K CPU was in a lot of things and a lot more people know how to tap into it now than back then the Megasis isn't too far off from the Neo Geo CPS1 and some Taito boards.

@Axelay71 What I really love about most Modern Megasis games is how much they're squeezing out of the hardware that they just didn't back in the day. If we got some of the stuff coming out now in the early 90s it'd be Nintendo that went 3rd party in 2001.

ZPF is a prime example of squeezing the most out of the Megasis.

A lot of PS4/5 games have something and Limited scam ALWAYS has a manual included.

@gojiguy Even the best shmups can be like that if you don't get in that zone. But we'll see when I get around to it.

@gojiguy The first point I actually found to it's benefit. But again I haven't spent a ton of time with it so maybe I'll see it your way when i do.

These titles are very hit or miss. They either have this issue, or horrid input lag.

But then you have Batsugun which was a great conversion or whatever it was they were doing.

@gojiguy What are you on? ZPF is Amazing. Ok ok it's you so you have some Shmup Cred. But what's your issuq with ZPF? I really enjoyed it and actually think it's better than Earthion. I haven't gotten super far in it granted but I like how it sections things off. I've been pretty bummed that it hasn't been available for purchase anywhere other that low print run.

I had to sail the Seven Seas just to beable to play it and I want those devs to get paid. They squeezed a lot of power out of the Megasis as a lot of INDIE DEVS seem to be doing lately so I'll be buying it on Steam and my consoles of choice when the time comes.

Probably better off with some arcade archives or the Milestones releases on Switch and a good arcade stick...

Not cool with them hosting FX Unit Yuki a game you can still buy.
But as far as fantranslations and quick access to stuff for ODEs this site is a godsend.

@gojiguy ACEX does have a lot to do. CS mode I really like I have the download on swtich but my go to is the physical on PS4 I haven't dug into the DLC yet but as a shmup lover I'll be picking them up.

I don't know anything about the PS5 native version other than that it's just a listing on the Playstation store.

The irony isn't lost on me then. It was indeed you who made that video. So here I am educating the guy that educated me. I reached the conclusion I did based on the chart you had at the beginning of the video. Even then I don't think I'm that sure now.

Anyways the PS5 native ACEX+ is based on a listing I stumbled on going through the PlayStation store on PS5. There's a listing for that and for G Darius and they're just listed as "Just announced" Could be something could be nothing.

@PKDuckman I have EVERYTHING but my preferred platform at the moment is Playstation. My XBOX is pretty much just for Tekken and Street Fighter 6. My switch is on borrowed time and PC gaming isn't really for me even though I have a ton of shmups on steam as well including these.

@gojiguy So there's ACEX+ Which is both on Switch and PS4 and apparently is going to get a native PS5 version soonish which has a bunch of stuff from the arcade version but not the chronicle saviors mode. It does have Event mode.

Then there's Dariusburst Chronicles saviors on Vita, Swtich and PS4. The PS4 version has EX without event mode but it has everything else plus Chronicle saviors mode.

There's a whole a YouTube video that explains all the varients of Dariusburst better than I did but that's the jist of it.

I also have a switch but I'm moving over to Playstation/Steam for my shmup fixes my last Switch Shmup was Cotton Reboot High tension which also SURPRISE is on PS5.

Ketsui isn't on Swtich but it's on Playstation.

The GOOD version of Dariusburst CS is on Playstation.
