It's that time again! Time for another Taito Milestones collection for Nintendo Switch.
Announced earlier today, the newly unveiled Taito Milestones 5 will launch in Japan January 28th, 2027, and will be available to buy both digitally and physically for 5,720 yen (as reported by Gematsu!).
As outlined over on the official Taito website, the new collection will include 10 titles in total, which were all originally released in arcades between 1978 and 1990. These range from the '70s classic Space Invaders all the way through to the '90s sports game Hat Trick Hero (known overseas as Football Champ), Taito's slightly more physical take on the beautiful game.
Here's the list of the included games in full:
- Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH
- Crime City
- Extermination
- Final Blow
- Hat Trick Hero
- Land Sea Air Squad
- Marine Date
- Plump Pop
- Sagaia (three-screen version)
- Space Invaders
If you like to keep up to date with the latest Arcade Archives releases, you might recognise a lot of these games already, as the majority of them have been reissued previously on Switch as part of the ongoing Hamster-developed series (complete with additional modes that are missing here).
The only exceptions to that, as far as we can tell, are Taito's underwater arcade puzzler Marine Date from 1981 and the 1987 vertically-scrolling mutant shoot 'em up Extermination, both of which you might recognise from their rereleases on the Egret II Mini. Marine Date was one of the additional titles included with the optional trackball and paddle controllers, while Extermination was one of the titles included on Taito Egret II Mini Arcade Memories Vol. 3.
Judging from other Taito Milestones releases, it seems fairly likely that these titles will eventually come to Arcade Archives, but if you want both of the games in a single collection, with eight other titles alongside them, here's your chance.
