Rock It Games' Croc Legend of the Gobbos Collector's Editions have finally started shipping to customers, with the game's developer, Argonaut Games, announcing on social media that it has now stepped in to resolve the delays customers have been dealing with.
The Collector's Editions for Nintendo Switch and PS5 were put on sale in October 2024 (alongside standard editions of the game). Priced at $129.99, it was said to come with a copy of the game, a full-colour manual, and extras (such as a 4-CD soundtrack, a resin statue of Croc, a keychain, poster, and a sticker sheet). The original delivery date was expected for sometime in 2025, but throughout that year, Rock It Games repeatedly delayed physical copies of the game, putting the blame on several different factors.
This ranged from company "growing pains", shipping delays related to "the unpredictable situation around tariffs", issues with the Croc statue, and delays to the mastering process, after Argonaut and Rock It Games mutually decided to upgrade all copies to the expanded 2025 Platinum Edition of the game, as opposed to the initial digital release.
Due to these delays and the company's handling of the situation (particularly in terms of its customer support), Rock It Games' social media was regularly inundated with complaints from dissatisfied customers, with Argonaut Games also receiving its fair share of comments asking the studio to intervene. In response, Argonaut distanced itself publicly from the issue, stating that it was not the publisher of the physical version and had instead licensed the game to Rock It Games to produce the physical editions. However, it argued that it was continuing to push Rock It behind the scenes "to do the right thing."
The Standard 'Platinum' editions started shipping in July of this year, with Rock It publishing a blog on September 12th, 2026, stating that "the vast majority of Standard Edition preorders, both domestic and international, have now shipped." Collector's Editions, however, have only just started shipping this month, with Rock It commenting, "Getting here took far longer than any of us wanted."
"With a huge amount of assistance from Argonaut Games, we've resolved all remaining issues with the logistics, boxes, wraps, and Collector's Edition construction, and the finished units are ready to go," Rock It Games wrote on its blog. It also said that Standard Edition orders placed between June and October 2026 are now "moving forward," with "one final push underway" to get them into players' hands.
"We’ve stepped in to take control of the Collector’s Edition situation," wrote Argonaut Games on Twitter/X. "And we're coordinating directly with the logistics company to get every CE preorder shipped to customers." It asked customers to share their shipping notification to keep tabs on things, but stated that any preorder questions should still go to Rock It.
This will inevitably be a relief to those who ordered the game back in 2024, but we imagine it will do little to make up for all the frustration and delays that customers have had to deal with over the past 20-plus months they've been waiting (many of whom, we expect, will think twice before ordering from Rock It Games again).
