@Thomystic I don't think it went over anyone's head. I agree with the author on AI, but I don't think it's particularly relevant to the topic, which is showcasing an art book. We do not need to compare every work of art to AI. We do not need to compare every car to a horse. It's misplaced energy and it makes what is obstentially the focus of the article a sidestory. And conversely, you cannot make the argument you want to make on AI by shoehorning it into other stories, hence why the author has spent as much time in the comments trying to make his point as he did in the article. This article tries to do too much in almost no space at all. It's muddled writing because it lacks discipline
"AI slop" style headline to be honest, but the book looks nice. Framing the article as a foil to AI disrespects work that can be appreciated without anchoring it to something worse.
For what it's worth, "the first-ever Stoker family-authorised Dracula" sequel was hot garbage. However, "Jonathan Harker's [experience in] Castle Dracula!" was the best part of Dracula.
