Kinda a shame seeing Video game esoterica referenced here. Their behaviour has basically been to make their videos worse in terms of editing / quality to, I guess please youtube? And then also get ***** with people on reddit when they spam their stuff just about everywhere. I've seen so many people try to give them constructive criticism. Seriously hoping they don't become a go-to for homebrew devs.
Hmm, can't say it immediately rings a bel. I feel like this is not the first time it's come up in my life. I do (or did?) have a friend that works around the SABC. Maybe I can ask em to poke around.
There's so many South African things I remember but struggle to find online these days. Probably doesn't help that google got worse :/
@Sketcz haha, no, I just live here, but not Australian.
Yeah it's cool to see the passion of people bringing something to life.
We had a ton of sanctions in South Africa due to apartheid, so even when they were lifted technology was still drip fed into the country.
When I moved to Aus I was dumbstruck by what kinda gaming things people have access to here. A lot of retro gaming stuff are easy enough to find on cash converters. I'd have to struggle just to find a gameboy cartridge back home.
I'm honestly certain I paid more for my analog pocket than this a number of years ago. I think the pink ones I bought were US249 each. The dock seems like the only thing that's pricier than I paid for mine.
@Sketcz Fan translations remind me of my own stint attempting it with Gameboy games to my native tongue (Since there aren't really any.) It started off well enough, but as more of real life creeps in, the desire to actually wrap it up dies. I still have a pokemon yellow rom that's 60 or so percent translated and probably will never reach 100.
But I've recently been trying to get that reverse engineered port of Animal Crossing GC running on an Anbernic device and I'm totally gonna wrap that up. Yep. Certainly haven't been staring at the compilation terminal on ubuntu of it for 3 weeks now not touching it.

Re: This PS1 Emulator Will Let You See Metal Gear Solid In A Whole New Light
I remember a while back that the PSP emulator on Oculus had some VR support that was pretty good. I never checked if that had a PC version.

Probably no harm adding in an xcancel link for those that don't want trackers / login to twitter:

Re: Random: "That's Wild" - The Fact That Two French Devs Didn't Play Nintendo As Kids Appears To Have Upset Some People
I mean jeez, I knew the Mega Drive better in South Africa due to Nintendo not supporting the country till the Nintendo DS / Wii era.
Heck, I didn't even know what the DS was when I saw it in a gaming store near my office. Bought it on a whim and was pleasantly surprised.
Re: OpenBioForge Aims To Bring Origin System's Cult Classic Adventure Title "Into The Modern Era"
The beginning of this game has been living rent free in my head for a long time. Now I might actually get to finishing it.
