Re: If The Oliver Twins' Ghost Hunters Is The Future Of GenAI Gaming, Then We Have Nothing To Worry About

@OliverTwins Philip, I think I speak for a lot of people who had previously enjoyed your games. Your catalogue provided charm as well as revolutionised what could be accomplished on early platforms. As consumers, we appreciated your artistry in programming those games.

I find it quite concerning that you're not addressing the main crux of people's arguments on here : the ethical implications of AI. We are not concerned about the viability of your platform.

You know how to make good games. Heavens knows you have the catalogue to prove it. The quality of the game is not the issue - it's the methodology you've used is what everyone is concerned about. You've chosen an ethically repugnant way to quickly turn around the semblance of a production minus the artistry, skill and individual voice. And in your reply you have the attitude that this methodology is inevitable (as so many tech bros who've been sold on the technology).

As someone who looked up to your work as a child and consequently went into the creative industry, I am particularly galled by your lack of empathy for your fellow artist. But I think that's the main issue - you've ceased to care for the art and will resort to mealy mouthed corporate speak & strawmanning in order to justify a sinister morality.

Gamers never asked for this. Gamers don't want this. It's sad how you've utterly tainted your legacy with such an appalling cash grab. You've lost a fan.
