Developer Argonaut Games has announced a release date for the upcoming sequel remaster Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos. The savvy scaly will be making his grand return on PC and console platforms October 29.

Originally released on PlayStation in 1999, Croc 2 sees the returning hero on a quest to reunite with his long-lost family, led by a mysterious note that washed up on the shores of Gobbo Valley.

Thus begins an epic journey across the Gobbo Mainland, as Croc picks his way through the continent's four villages in 3D platforming action. Players must guide Croc through the hazards of each village, en route to a showdown with its guardian and pressing one step closer to that family reunion.

Argonaut's remaster, which follows last year's remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, brings new visual fidelity to Croc 2, tweaks its controls, and adds other quality-of-life updates.

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will also see the return of the Crocopedia (sweatily renamed the "Croc2pedia"), a museum of production materials, animation tests, marketing ads, concept artwork and interviews with the Argonaut design team.

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos launches October 29 on PlayStation, PC, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch
