This week marks the 30th anniversary of one of the most notable and recognisable gaming franchises of all time, Tomb Raider. It's been three whole decades since that box-shaped adventurer Lara Croft took her first steps into the depths of the Peruvian jungle, kicking off an action-adventure franchise that would sell millions of copies and go on to become a multimedia sensation.

As part of the week's ongoing festivities, Crystal Dynamics has released a playlist of music that fits into the viral vibe of "lo-fi". Produced by musician That Norsk Chick, the Tomb Raider: 30th Anniversary Lo-Fi Collection is a collection of chill, easygoing remixes pulled from 30 years of dual-wielding adventure.

The playlist features reimaginings of tracks from the "Classic" games, the Legend and Anniversary series, and the Underworld trilogy, with That Norsk Chick (real name Amandolin Rostykus) lending her amazing talents to the work of numerous Tomb Raider composers, including Nathan McCree, Peter Connelly, Martin Iveson, Troels B. Folmann, Colin O’Malley, Jason Graves, Bobby Tahouri, Brian D’Oliveira, Wilbert Roget, II, and Paul Houseman.

And if that wasn't enough, current Lara Croft voice actor Alix Wilton Regan has recorded new dialogue that is spotted throughout the music, while top illustrator Tholia has created thumbnail animations showing Ms Croft working at her desk in Croft Manor... in her leather gloves and booty shorts, and with her gun holsters equipped. So I'm glad that Lara and I have something in common.

So, if you fancy an hour of brain-pleasing nostalgia to get your Tuesday started, hit that play button.
