Tokyo Game Show 2026 is underway at the city's Makuhari Messe, bringing with it a variety of news, updates, and reveals pertaining to the world of gaming. Publisher Edia, via its show-floor catalogue, has revealed early details of a new shmup collection, Psikyo Memories, currently in development for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
From the catalogue, as translated by Gematsu:
"Shoot ’em ups from Psikyo, the developer that swept through the 1990s arcade scene, are coming to modern platforms! This complete collection of classic titles preserves the frenzy and signature high-speed action of the originals. Come enjoy a rich selection of titles that only Psikyo could offer!"
Psikyo has been responsible for myriad shmup titles throughout the '90s and '00s, bouncing between the anime-themed Gunbird and Samurai Aces series and more "real-world" endeavours such as the excellent Strikers franchise. The studio's games are recognised for their frenetic gameplay, goofy characters, and questionably visualised hurtboxes.
As Edia's blurb references a "complete collection", we can only assume Psikyo Memories will include all the Gunbird and Strikers titles, as well as individual releases such as Dragon Blaze and Sol Divide.
While the TGS catalogue only references PS5 and Switch 2 as platforms, Gematsu reports that Strikers 1945 is available on the TGS show floor via PC (though this could simply be the game's work-in-progress build, rather than completed code). Several Psikyo titles were removed from (and then returned to) Steam in 2025, so we'll have to wait and see regarding the availability of a PC port.
