Tecmo's 1997 PlayStation port of the arcade fighting game Tōkidenshō Angel Eyes is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5, courtesy of Console Archives.

Tōkidenshō Angel Eyes is a slightly obscure Japanese fighting game that was originally released in the arcades in 1996, but was slightly overshadowed at the time by another Tecmo fighter, the Sega Model-2-powered Dead or Alive.

It focused on a group of girls fighting to inherit the powers of "the archangel," bringing together an eclectic cast that included Japanese schoolgirls, ninja assassins, casino dealers, and hard-as-nails bikers.

In the past, Hamster released the original 1996 arcade version of the title back in 2022, on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but is now offering players the chance to experience the expanded PlayStation port of the game.

This comes with additional story and training modes, not present in the original arcade version, as well as proper opening and ending cutscenes for each character and 11 unlockable fighters (some of which are variations on the existing cast).

Here's the description for the game, provided by Hamster:

"TOUKI DENSHOU ANGEL EYES" was released by TECMO in 1997 for a 32-bit home console.
Choose your fighter from the "Eight Angels" and battle your way to the top to become the ultimate "Archangel" in this thrilling fighting game.
