Back in the 90s, I was lucky enough to have both an SNES and a Genesis. I've always found both to be equally amazing. I respect folks have their preference, but I never saw it as a battle between them. To be fair, I didn't have to choose one
That's some serious fan dedication. I revisited the NES title a week or so ago while making my Ghostbusters Video Game Music compilation vid and yeah, it wasn't great. I respect the nostalgia, though
Haven't read the comments, but I imagine it to be the usual sanctimonious piracy lecture, a this device is underpowered junk declaration, and a few folks legit interested in this machine.
If you don't want one, don't buy one. I pre-ordered the Steam Deck for the portable emulation beast it's likely to be, but devices like these rule for budgetary gaming and may be news to some readers.
Picked mine up from a company I do NOT recommend. Pre-ordered with buyee.jp, which had great prices on the Mini and accessories but gouged me months after my pre-order with two separate super high shipping charges. I'll give them this, it left Japan and hit my door in a matter of days. Solid build, some real standout titles, but I'm only pumped for 10 or so of them. While we're not supposed to condone homebrew, if an inevitable hack arrives I'd like to swap out the duds for titles I wish had been included. Fun system, though!
When you consider the TG-16 Mini was about 100 bucks, this is a solid deal from a company making ridiculously high quality consoles. Looking forward to the day patents allow them to tackle the N64
@Damo Right on, man. I don't understand the logic behind Sega's AGES line. Arcade1UP is starting with the Golden Axe titles while AGES is busy slowly dripping out some fairly obscure ones and hasn't featured Golden Axe, Altered Beast or most of the 80s arcade hits
Pretty sweet. Sadly, I just picked up a pricey flash cart early this year for my Analogue and can't justify another purchase, but what a gizmo. Most of my games are in storage, they take up loads of shelf space, so I rely on flash carts to easily play my existing libraries easily and to reduce wear and tear on the originals. As retro enthusiasts accumulate more and more collections of not just carts but the hardware, not having to plug in the CD attachment and dust of our discs is a kindness. If you don't like flash carts, yelling at them won't do much good, but if you want a legit way to easily play vast cart libraries you actually own, they're a gamesaver
The D-Pad and face buttons are hideous. Unless they manage to feel responsive, not much to see here, and there are far more attractive Droid setups like this that will run any retro rom ya throw at it
It's been in development so long I gave up and picked up retrousb's AVS for NES titles, analogue's SNES and pre-ordered their upcoming Genesis/MD unit. This still looks like a great option for folks who haven't picked up any cloned consoles yet or simply want an all-in-one space solution
Having owned their previous consoles, this will be a thing of beauty well worth the price. Seriously, the clone consoles are horrific. Analogue nails compatibility
Ordered mine this evening. I waited with the SNES Nt and the more time passed, the higher the shipping cost became for some reason. It wound up being 25 bucks for US shipping. At present, this unit ships for 15 or so.

Re: Can't Get An Analogue Pocket? This Cheap And Dinky Handheld Might Plug The Gap
It's always the dinky ones like this that manage to get the B A order right.
Re: Save Yourself The Bother Of Completing NES Games With This New Book
That's actually a pretty cool coffee table book idea
Re: Hardware Review: Analogue Pocket - Potent FPGA Power In Portable Form
Managed to pre-order with the 1st wave. No shipping confirmation yet, but thanks for the review
Re: Random: Performing Combos In The Worst Version Of Street Fighter II Is Pretty Hard, But Possible
Given the technical limitations of the Gameboyâ„¢ it's actually impressive it looks as good as it does. Shame about the frame rate and lag, though

Re: Sega's Astro City Mini Is Getting A Limited Run Games Release In The US
@xzacutor I was wondering this as well. Because it only says the packaging has been translated, my gut says no

Re: The SNK Neo Geo MVSX Home Arcade Is Packed With 50 Games, Costs 500 Bucks
With what they used to charge for their home console back in the day, this checks. Might be worth it for an inevitable hack.
The Neo-Geo Mini output some truly horrible graphics... so it'd be nice if they fixed that this time around

Re: Arcade1Up Is Reviving A Sega Classic That Has Never Been Seen Outside Of Arcades
Wrestle War is totally out of place on that cab. A better 3-button addition would have been Alien Storm or something
Re: Polymega Slips Into Early 2020, But It's Bringing Some Cool Stuff With It
@KevvyLava I emulate those just fine. I only wanted systems to play my old cartridges again
Re: Polymega Slips Into Early 2020, But It's Bringing Some Cool Stuff With It
The lengthy delays are why I purchased two Analogue systems and RetroUSB's AVS. Their compatibility is 100%

Re: Analogue Mega Sg To Feature Unreleased Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Game
@KennyBania Whoah. That's shady
Re: Analogue Mega Sg To Feature Unreleased Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Game
@KennyBania The hack is unofficial, I still use SNES carts on mine despite the option of an outdated firmware revision

Re: Feature: How Mortal Kombat Defined The Console War Between Sega And Nintendo
@GrailUK Agreed, take out the gory visuals and there's just not much to it. Loved the later DC vs Moral Kombat title, though, that was a hoot
Re: There's A New Intellivision Coming, And A Trio Of Former Nintendo Staffers Are Helping Launch It

Re: Feature: How Mortal Kombat Defined The Console War Between Sega And Nintendo
@Solid_Stannis I didn't follow that device at the time and knew no one who owned one.
Re: Feature: How Mortal Kombat Defined The Console War Between Sega And Nintendo
I remember this well.
Genesis had the blood.
SNES had the sweat.
Re: Feature: Shining A Light On Ikegami Tsushinki, The Company That Developed Donkey Kong
No wonder it's not among the upcoming Arcade Archives batch of Nintendo titles.
Re: Hardware Review: Retro-Bit Super Retro Trio Plus
Yuck.
For NES I love my AVS.
I've ordered Analogue's SNES.
If someone creates a decent HDMI Genesis we're set.
