@metaphysician it's a bad take on game development as a whole and doesn't apply to every game. You can argue that Tears of the Kingdom, was practically the same engine and same map as the previous game. Probably not Death Stranding 2. Or not resident evil (pick any). What codebase or creative assets are we even talking about?
