I’m well aware of how many great RPGs are on the SNES/Super Famicom, but reading lists like these it’s still considerably shocking just how many stone cold classics were released on it in such a short amount of time. Growing up in Europe, I feel very sad that I only got to experience a handful of these at the time, but I certainly made up for it.
My favorites are Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest V, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Secret of Evermore.
Konami should hire IGA to make a new IGAVania, Order of Ecclesia was in many ways one of the most interesting ones he made there and I really feel like he was cut off at a creative peak.
@-wc- mother is vaguely inspired but is not an obvious thing, Ni No Kuni lifts a whole bunch of plot elements (including the main plot) and world building stuff like twinners and how they work, to the point where if you have read The Talisman it’s impossible not to notice the innumerable similarities.
I’m very much a gray area person on this, but if you want to play a game let’s say on Steam Deck, that you can still support financially in any way where the devs/publishers get the money, I think you need to do that first. If on the other hand there is no way to support the devs for that game and the only person you are supporting is someone selling a cartridge on eBay for $800, I think research the devs, see if they have a recent game you can give them some money for, purchase that game, use a vpn and get a rom for the old game. Even though that’s not the legal way, to me that’s the right moral way.

Re: Best Game Boy Games Of All Time
I have every single one of these and this is a very good list. There are plenty more really good games on GB, but this list has no fat.

Re: Best Nintendo 3DS RPGs Of All Time
Personally would recommend Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, it’s one of my 5 favorite 3DS games nevermind RPGs.
Very good list!
Re: Guide: Best Wonder Boy Games, Ranked By You
Without nostalgia goggles, Monster Boy is easily a cut above all the rest. Great series
Re: Retroid Unveil The Retroid Pocket Flip, A New Clamshell Handheld
No 3D, no Buy. I don’t make the rules

Re: Best Castlevania Games - Every Castlevania Game Ranked, By You
Pleasantly surprised by this ranking. Top 5 is ironclad.

Re: Shigesato Itoi Talks About Stephen King's Influence On 'Mother'
It’s funny that Mother is the game that brings up this influence, Ni No Kuni is the game that really lifted a whole lot from the Talisman.
Re: Everyone's Favourite Game Boy Clone Could Become Extinct
The title made me nervous before I saw the pic, I thought this was about the Analogue Pocket

Re: Random: Grandchild Discovers 26 Copies Of Wario Game In Late Grandmother's Collection
@AlphaElite also Oracle of Ages and Konami Arcade Advanced. Maybe with enough eyes we’ll figure them all out!
Re: Random: Grandchild Discovers 26 Copies Of Wario Game In Late Grandmother's Collection
Two of the games at the top are Zelda Oracle of Ages and Konami Arcade Advanced.
