I remember reading a Wired article back in 2000 about the optimism regarding the ability to come up with a universal translator. Here we are 25 years later and while undeniably great strides have been made in machine translation, it’s still not perfect.
I think AI may take a similar course where it is providing useful output and generally making a lot of things more accessible, but it won’t be able to achieve the grand feats that have been predicted for many decades to come. If AGI really does happen though that could really speed things up.
I think the New 3DS XL is likely to keep going up in value. They’re the best of a popular line of systems with a feature that will probably never be replicated, have an enormous library that will be nostalgic for a lot of people, and being a handheld system many probably suffered a lot of abuse.
Used to order from DieHard all the time, probably the most memorable thing I got was the Super Famicom Street Fighter 2 before the American version released. Even visited the original store on vacation once. Good times. Thanks for this article!
I got mine on Monday and have been loving revisiting some of the games I loved. I skipped all the other minis, didn’t see the appeal since those games have been widely available forever, but this one was my dream mini. I understand the disappointment of so many games being in Japanese only, but even that is true to the original TG16 experience LOL, at least for me and my friends.
I had a turbo grafx and a duo back when they were new, bought a pc engine express at one point too. I love that system and am really looking forward to the mini!
I find it really interesting that the official site for the mini says “Featured games are in English.” Kind of implies some games may not be.

Re: Have You Checked On Your Wii U GamePad Battery Recently?
Bought a used WiiU in 2019 and no swelling yet. My day 1 Switch on the other hand swelled up a few years ago and I finally replaced the battery.

Could they not have done a 4:3 screen? The cheap Chinese clone systems I’ve seen have managed it.
