Thank you for sharing this. It makes me think a little bit about Pokemon Crystal's mobile phone capability. It's weird to feel nostalgic for those times before smart phones. Even for keitei which I didn't actually experience. Makes me think of Satellaview too.
If the headset had been $49.99 I probably would have gotten it. It's current price is just way too much for me and I'm not sure if the $24.99 cardboard is comfortable enough to justify the purchase. Truthfully I want the full experience with the headset. Maybe I can eventually get one secondhand.
Really excited to watch this footage and very thankful for all the efforts to document and preserve stuff like this. It really is like a time capsule to a different time and place. The period of when I was a child but didn't have access to anything like this at all is very magical.
Thank you so, so much for this interview, Time Extension & Leslie Swan. I live off of stuff like this. It's one of few really good looks behind the curtain and I'm glad it was able to happen. There's a lot that feels like it gets lost as time goes on so this is almost like a preservation effort.
Leslie Swan says she was lucky to work at Nintendo, but I think we are lucky that we got her. I owe so much to her, Gail, Bill, and many others I'm sure. Not just "my childhood" but "my life." I'm more familiar now than I was when I was younger, but I still can't help but think about all the times I've seen her name as the credits roll on countless games I've finished. Animal Crossing for Nintendo GameCube is a part of my life I will never, ever forget and I appreciate all the work it took to get it translated and get it over here for us. This felt so personal. I had to make an account just to show my appreciation for this interview. So thank you!
