@slider1983 Not the M64 [insert Darth Vader cry] 🤣
I know TE staff have a right to choose what they post, it's their sandbox. Also they were very open about their stance on Modretro, after multiple articles.
But I do wonder if once the buzz about the NeoGeo dies down the same will happen. Not a criticism just a personal prediction.
To me it's evident that this has been a polarised announcement. Mostly because of the owner of SNK.
Definitely feels that some are attacking the system and those who wish to buy it for that single reason. Already claims it will be poor quality and a "one trick pony" joined with the typical "I can play it somewhere else" are coming through. Buyers are seen as bad as the prince, to some, because we dare to make the purchase.
Video games are most of ours escapes from the problems of the real world. With the NeoGeo being the holly grail for some because it was a system out of the reach of most at the time.
As I've said in previous posts elsewhere here, I'm getting the system because I appreciate playing original carts on original hardware (sure some will claim it's a reproduction and not original).
Do I care that somewhere a company or person linked to the item is either an arm manufacturer or runs a country with a "questionable" track record. TBH no.
Because my feeling is if you want to be overly righteous then you wouldn't have anything. People who get silly about you brought it so you're as bad is totally stupid. Because somewhere at sometime the production of everything, or parts of, can be linked to a person, company or country that has done some questionable actions. Either now or in their past.
I mean look at the following. Petrol bad. The price currently so high because other countries don't want to drill their own.
EV is green and better. But all the materials dug up to make them and all the transportation costs of said materials.
There is a reason the UK won't drill more oil is as it would affect the fictional net0 plans. But buy it from another country, have it shipped here and their hands are clean. Same with waste disposal and shipping it to China or Africa to be burnt.

Re: "Humbling And Deeply Inspiring" - Neo Geo+ Production Forecasts Increased After "Overwhelming" Response
@slider1983 in the same way of right to choose a purchase, people have the right to choose what they report on.
We can't make people to. Best we can do is get data from multiple sources.

@slider1983 guess it comes down to where everyone draws their line. Or are "told" to draw it.
On the upside I did see that PLAION put out a tweet talking about further releases after the first 10.

@Mr_Chicken I also tried banning myself from YJA. But the little s**t I am disobeyed me and kept on buying. 😆

Re: Talking Point: "We, The Consumers, Need To Vote With Our Wallets" - The Moral Dilemma Of Supporting SNK In 2026
I've ordered the complete bundle.
