Jaleco's Ninja JajaMaru is getting another taste of fame thanks to a new release on PC, Switch 2 and PS5.

As revealed during today's Pixel Arcadia show, Ninja JajaMaru - Yokai Night Parade is described as "a groovy new adventure" in which players will have to "hack and slash to defend the city and save the princess".

The core gameplay loop appears to centre on looting and levelling up, giving the classic '80s arcade icon a modern-day lick of paint.

The original Ninja JaJaMaru-kun launched on the Famicom in 1985. It has seen a flurry of sequels since then, with the most recent being Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle.

Yokai Night Parade was actually announced back in 2025 under the Japanese title of JaJaMaru no Hyakki Yagyou Den. City Connection is co-developing the game with the same team behind 2019's Ninja JaJaMaru: The Great Yokai Battle, as well as the developer Amazing, Co., Ltd.
