I never really got on with the series. I had 3 and 4. The way your shielded ship would bounce off capital ships like a rubber ball just felt weird to me.
Also, re: Collection of Mana, surprised Trials of Mana in its newly translated yet original style (not the remake) didn’t get a mention. First Western release, wasn’t it?
If any game deserves a director’s cut to be made after all this time, it’s this one. Depends how much prep work had been done on the cutback sections (at the end, IIRC) and what would be done based on actual plans versus what they would have made if the SNES CD drive had gone ahead.
Quite a few. Maybe the best of them: Parodius collection for the PSP, and most recent was the Gradius II reissue with Oh! X that came out earlier this year.
@Zeebor15 They were okay games. Finders Keepers is stylistically different than the others. Kind of a platform adventure in which you explore a castle, but light on the platforming from what I recall. The others are much purer adventures; heavy on dialogue, inventory and puzzle solving. I liked their style in the day but was terrible at progressing.
Jeez, that video is a bit off the mark that Tetris being developed using Russian govt-owned computers is why it was technically govt-owned software. 🤦‍♂️

Re: Game Changer: Secret of Mana - the SNES Classic That Tided Me Over Until the 32-Bit Revolution Arrived
@Maulbert Ah, I skimmed, missed it, and searched for “Trials” to see if it was mentioned. D’oh.

@Blast16 yes, it does. It’s mentioned on bitmap Books’ product page under Book Specifications.
