@Xerox1919 You have this backwards. They wanted to give it a different identity from the FF dubs, not from the source material, which is VERY similar to the British English tone. It's the EARLY DQ games that were translated inaccurately.
The pun names, wordplay, and humour are entirely present in the Japanese release, and fit perfectly for British English.
