With the Fall season creeping in, there's no better way to spend the dark, early evenings than with a dose of Survival Horror, and DreadXP has console players covered: spooky indie adventure Heartworm is coming to consoles next month, following on from its PC release in 2025.

Developed by Vincent Adinolfi, Heartworm is a psychological survival horror title that captures the pacing, atmosphere, and aesthetic of some of the genre's earliest examples, such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It tells the story of Sam, a bereaved young woman who finds herself quite literally drawn into an online world of unrequited promise.

To say more would be to give too much away, as Heartworm's poignant, evocative story is the core of Heartworm's experience, one celebrated by critics and players for cutting a little deeper than standard dodge-the-zombies fare. But players can expect an unnerving, emotional spook story of love, loss, and letting go - draped in the isometric angles, claustrophobic action, and CGI cutscenes that were the genre's trademark.

Heartworm, available now on PC, launches on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms October 1.
