What're your faves? I've only got the one, but it's kinda my one true love handheld, so is all I need lol. What about you lovely lot on here? This is filler text. Filler text is often used to pad out short messages to bypass Nintendo Life, Time Extension, Push Square, Pure Xbox, and other sites' character minimums.

Sorry, forgot to mention my handheld. It's Anbernic's RG34XXSP, a superb remake of the Game Boy Advance Special's form factor with a larger screen, 4 shoulders, and 2 sticks. Check out the TE review here!

I have an embarrassingly large collection of handhelds, but in my defence I have been buying them for a long time - and that's not counting official handhelds, famiclones in handheld form, ATGames devices, LCD games and the like! And we shan't even mention all of the gadgets I've bought over the years that attach a controller to a phone or tablet.

The earliest is my GP2X, which in its time has travelled with me all over the world. Since then I've bought systems from PowKiddy, GPD, Anbernic, Ayn, Retroid, TrimUI and from lots of other names that popped up and then disappeared just as quickly.

My absolute favourite is the TrimUI Smart Pro (and now the S version). It does so much right. Other honourable mentions are the Anbernic ARC, which I term the Sega Nomad I always wanted and the RG CubeXX - its 1:1 screen is perfect for Gameboy and some other 90s handhelds.

I'll mention the Steam Deck too, but as with my other higher-end handhelds (Odin 2, PocketFlip 2 etc) it doesn't get used as much. It turns out that I'm not that interested in playing PS2 and GameCube on the go. Plus they were expensive enough that I don't like taking them out of the house!

What I'm really waiting for now is a device to appear that has modular controls and, if it can be done, a screen that can rotate between horizontal and vertical. If that ever appears I'll be all over it like butterscotch sauce over ice cream.
