I love this stuff! And yes, one time while my car was getting serviced, I was randomly watching a 1960s TV show, "The Big Valley", Episode: "the Price of Victory". By the end of the episode, I was (and remain) convinced this little-known show inspired my favorite NES game of all-time, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! The VanKaiser outfits were my first clue, but the focus on a fighter’s weakness and tells sold me.
What is amazing to me in the New York Times story about the Sony isolation room is that the subject employee was not or could not be fired when his position was legitimately eliminated (his division that produced old technology--magnetic tapes for videos and cassettes). Here in the US, he would have found himself out the door (and without a paycheck) day one. Is that not as equally unfair?
I have to agree with the nay-sayers on this. The whole industry is moving to digital downloads for cost reasons, and that stinks, but it offers gamers the ability to play really great retro games and retro-styled indie on new systems and on the cheap. I know my love of carts will not justify buying a new system to play a limited number of indie games.

So Pong, Combat, Space Invaders redux....good luck.
Re: Polymega's "Next Gen" Light Gun Controller Will Let You Play Duck Hunt On Your HDTV
Looks great. Still not interested in the system, but Nintendo needs to get on using all that Joy-Con tech for light gun games + gun.
Re: Feature: Your Beloved Games Console Is Slowly But Surely Dying
Definitely food for thought, but honestly, is there ANY consumer device from the 1980s that still works as brilliantly as most NES consoles?

@sdelfin: That's incredible! Thanks for not dismissing my crackpot theory . . . we could be on to something, lol!

@LemonSlice : HA! I was thinking iconic . . .
Re: Atari's New Console Seems To Be Part NES Classic Mini, Part Ouya
Okay, crowdfunded?!? Way to step up, Atari.
Secondly, the "ribbed" feature, while ionic, was a dust/dirt magnet.
